For some reason, I intermittently get a totally black background, and DeskScapes won't apply any installed Background. I'm not sure what causes this, but I will try to figure that out. When this happens, usually some interaction with Windows, like a right-click on the desktop to open the context menu, then the background gets applied. If I open the Windows setting for Personalization > Background, I see a black background has been added, presumably by some interaction wi

It appears that the Advanced Setting to "Show DeskScapes icon in the system tray" does not survive a restart of the computer. After the restart, I had to enter Advanced Settings; uncheck "Show DeskScapes icon in the system tray" and click Okay; then check it again and click okay. It then appeared in the System Tray again.
There appear to be some UI display issues. I have experienced random flickering on different categories, and frame irregularities with images. [quote who="WindowzWallz" reply="3993444" id="541656"] DeskScapes 2026 just shows a black screen on both of my monitors. What other updates do I need to make to make this work? I was running both static and animated wallpapers on DeskScapes prior to this update without issue. Running Windows 11 version 25H2. Also running Start11 v2 and Fences 6. You might have to switch on "Use Windows 10 style all programs list rather than Windows 7 style" to hide the icons, but then you should be able to switch back to the Modern Style.
Thanks for the info Jan. I have the CursorXp icon, but the one you are showing I have also seen. I had seen I the WindowBlinds 4 icon, but I wasn't sure it was an official icon or fan made. I'll look into Impulse and the others you mentioned. Look again at the ObjectBar icon above and see if it rings any bells. Do you know what version it might be? <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/69/28/6928565/6baad6bd-7c77-499d-bba1-4cf9c73e4cbb.png" alt="" width="120" height
Wow! DeskScapes 2026 is really great. Loving all the changes and improvements. One issue (or not) with the info panel settings. Is the - copy - copy correct or should it be more explanatory.

I have been working to build a history of Stardock Icons. Please let me know if any of these icons are wrong, and also let me know if I have missed any. Thanks you Updated with help from Jan and Doc. Thanks guys

Not sure what menu style you are using, but you should be able to hide apps by right-click context menu in the All Apps section. To show the app again, right-click any item in the All Apps section and choose "Show hidden items list," and then right-click the app you want to unhide and select More > uncheck "Hide from apps." Sorry, I am running Windows 11, and am only able to get recent files in the jump lists in Start11 and File Explorer. I don't use Window blinds either.
I don't see a Windows setting for "Show Recent Documents." Tell me where to find this setting and I'll test it for you. Which style of Start menu and sub-style are you using?
Straight from the horses mouth: The impact of Secure Boot certificate expiration "Microsoft is updating the Secure Boot certificates originally issued in 2011 to ensure Windows devices continue to verify trusted boot software. Insider Experimental Preview Build 26300.8493 probably still has some real issues at this point. Remember, this is Microsoft we're talking about. I am sure that Stardock has seen this coming for a while and are prepared. ;)
Not wearing hearing aids yet, but most of my friends who do have the ones that go behind the ear with a tiny tube that goes in the ear. They also connect to your phone wirelessly for phone calls. I would follow Doc's advice to see your ENT first. There a lot of companies out there that pray on the elderly, which unfortunately we all are. ;)
And here's a good way to check if your Secure boot certificates are up to date in the Windows Security app. Check for Secure Boot Cert Updates <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/
Try adding that app to the blocked list.
Thanks for the explanation of what caused the crash. We all figured it was something like that. The new forums are awesome, and the folks involved are doing a great job! Here's to Stardock and all the great people who work to make it all possible!
