Kitty: See top of thread for my e-mail. And as for space: there's tons still. Don't panic. When it starts to become way cramped, I'll let it be known here. Until then thanks for the submissions so far and keep them coming!
Last time this was done, I made a small tag, but it never got included.
I'll be sure to cram in as many as I can while still making them all distinct. :) Although I'd love to include everyone, it will be sort of a first-come-first-serve basis. Please note that all submissions may be resized (down) depending on number of submissions. So the bigger you send, the better, really. The wallpaper is 1920 x 1200 pixels at it's largest, so frankly, th
Um. Forget my first sentence in the post above. :)
Size doesn't really matter. Afterall, make it too small and that's all people will see: make it too large and I simply have to scale it down to fit. So really, when sending, pixel dimensions almost don't matter. :)
Everyone's welcome. I should have been more clear: it's not necessarily just skinners or artists. Contributors to WC, I guess. The only trouble is, there's only so much wall space. ;)
Does anyone remember, back in 2004, many skinners, artists and such alike got together and produced a community wallpaper, that we each 'tagged' with our grafitti? That was about 4 years ago. Many skinners have since either quit, lost interest, moved onto greener pastures or just got bored. New ones have emerged and shown great promise, so I feel it's time for another community wall, akin to 2004's, just newer. What do you think? I've made a very suitable background for it b
Favorites? Hm. Well, keep in mind we're not necessarily saying who's best, just who we prefer. Like KISS vs. Barbra Streisand. These are not, by any means, in any order of importance whatsoever. ;p For Windowblinds: Hippy: Impeccable work. Very clean, very high quality skins. An almost obsessive attention to details. Tiggz: As Jafo said, he kind of popped up out of nowhere and within a few uploads had won over the hearts and i
Nauticalpixel: his wallpapers just take me to another realm....i luv his work.
Oh my. Don't know what to say. Am pleased you enjoy my stuff. Between you and I, 50% of us like my work. ;)
Thanks. I'll keep that in mind if I ever see any of your stuff in the queue....
He's a Journeyman. :P Might be waiting some time. heh
I've not forgotten about my promise of a wallpaper. :) I guess I'm waiting to see a final screenshot of the Windowblind itself (I tend to work off those).
Can we take Karma AWAY too?
Not at present, no.
To be able to vote once every 10 minutes seems a bit much. A site I go to uses the karma system, but after much tinkering, testing, they set it so users can give one person karma points, every 24 hours. This also forces folks to really muse over whom they feel best deserves it, rather than risk having runaway karma points. I suppose with too many, it kind of diminishes the point. Removing the ability to rate negatively accomplishes, to me, only 50% of the issue/s. Whil

Nah. You spoke just in time. I might never have seen this thread if it hadn't been bumped and you hadn't jumped the gun, assuming it'd never be found. So thanks for not being thorough! It helped this guy one quite a bit, it seems. (You do know we all wub you, right, ZubaZ?)

Purrball:
we're really looking for WC/Skinning questions, not Stardock product questions.
Vlad, last I checked, doesn't hand scale those wallpapers down. On his site it's a php-based script he wrote that does it when he uploads it. Believe it or not. :P
I vote sure, on a survey. We ought to survey WinCustomize.com and survey it's users on whether or not surveys are favorable or not. Should we start by polling on whether surveys are ok or should we do a survey on whether or not to do a poll on surveys? Perhaps a poll to see whether or not poll surveys are acceptable? Uh. What? ;p
I only hope I can become half the man that he is.
Judging by the mere fact that you even contemplated his greatness, and how you factor in there, indicates, at least to me, you're well on your way to living up to the legend your Grandfather is. Well done. Hugs and sunshine to you, if you need it. :)
Hm. Seems no one has touched on the power of Google? All hail the mighty Google. When it doubt, Google it. If still in doubt, try different search terms. If still in doubt, ask Jafo. If and when all else fails, ask me.
Zubaz. Breaking things, again. This needs to stop. :P
