Just thought I'd check in to say hi, got your email Evil Steve but have been busy! Might go and try to get some more points on the board. [Message Edited]

Hmmm a little unfair... first turn of the game the Alexians have built a diplomatic translator. I mean I haven't even had a turn yet... ~SDC~ *Edit* - ... playing attrition map with all six races, thought I'd start again... each restart has a minor buying a tech good. - clicked on show ships and can see enemy ships on my map in unexplored areas. didn't happen stright away justwhen I move my exporer vessel a few tiles further. *Edit* [Message Edited]
Yay :CONGRAT: its you finally squeeshed the bug! :CONGRAT: Thankyou Cari!!!!!!! ~SDC~
Thanks mates for the congrats! As you know doubt guessed I'm a bit inactive, having no time to play Galciv at the moment. Hopefully this will change in the future :) I still drop in occasionally and keep track on the goings on. Have fun people :) ~SDC~
I hear you dracko... its been too hot this Christmas! :sniff!: Where is the rain ? :sniff!: Come on and rain and cool this place down! >:( Hmmm the weather iz affecting my mood I iz hot and irritable! Though I do want to wish everyone a Merry and safe Christmas. :CONGRAT: Have fun all! ~SDC~
Not sure if this belongs here but its feedback about the beta. Haven't really had a chance to play with the Beta and editors all that much, however from the brief look..... The GCLoader is a bit annoying. It starts cut off below the bottom of my screen and I click on the planet to move it all is fine. However If I move it clicking on say the title text it flickers between two positions as I move it. A little annoying depending on where you click and as how much it flickers can vary. <-
I'm not sure Brian, your probably correct and that would have fixed the problem. All I know is that now everything works fine. The only problem I have had is with stardock central is with the Altarian Prophecy install part. However the archiving part did actually work.... just it didn't want to install. Now of course everything is working fine, I am using restored archives of galciv 1.13 and altarian beta. Of course this doesn't help anyone solve the problem but does hint to me that th
;) My computer needed it anyway, GalCiv was just a good motivational excuse. ~SDC~
I have formatted/re-installed windows :D. Reinstalled galciv and stardock central and everything works, the great thing was that the archive file works so I didn't have to redownload the file. ~SDC~

I have an archived file though something may have gone wrong. It has a weird name and is extensionless I renamed it to a .zip and the files inside are all cut off ".ex_" etc. Extracting and renaming these files gave no results whatsoever either. Using the restore function with either archive (original and renamed) gives the same crash. I have since unstalled and reinstalled stardock central multiple times with both the stardock central installers. I'll get my error log
Thanks Ray, thats what I'd figured ;) hopefully It'll work, can't see why it wouldn't... On dial up so it'll take a while to find out. ~SDC~ Well if it doesn't work hopefully someone will come up with something that does and pass it along. I'll try it out once its finished downloading and tell you how it went ;) [Message Edited]
I have a drengin.net subscription but stardock central keeps crashing every time I try to install the beta. I tried the suggested stardock central download (sdc121_remove.exe) and checked and rechecked my serials etc to no avail. However I found a solution and am downloading the expansion now. So if your in a similar position try this... Go to the games section, right click on the Altarian Prophecy Beta selection and use the achive -> download and archive option. Hope this
Wouldn't mind if ground combat was a little more complex, even if that just meant the implementation of 'troops'. None taxpayers who fight better then citizens... this might allow for other ideas, such as should the planetary garrision be wiped out and the citizens morale drops (as they suffer losses) below a limit they surrender to the invaders. Possibly allows alignment options on how to deal with the conquered populace. Then have a period of time where the populace loyality must be built up (
I thought that this was "Smeagol O"'s doing by the profile name. ~SDC~
Sounds more like a star gate to me, however I know what you mean. I just figured it makes a cool name, like most of the techs. Afterall if you listen to the intro it says a hyperdrive allows insant travel anywhere in the galaxy - that not in the game! ;). Would be interesting to have stargates as big and expensive structures to run and worm hole tech allows you to build cheaper versions, possibly with ship size restrictions or restrictions on the number of ships through per tu
It beats naming it "super dupa scooter". ~SDC~
Well said Wombat!!! Now back to the first post...
Would be updated GRAPHICS.
Possible? probably, likely... no.
I'd love to see the ground battles in more detail, or maybe see my colonies in 3d, or just something. Would any of this at all be possible?
Possible? probably, likely... no. Have to wait to see what they do in the next one... if you like that stuff I can suggest galactic imperium one or two though from memory
Hmm I love multiplayer, my gaming became better as a result. Plus it adds change and get this.... social interaction ;) during a game. I like the randomness a human player can bring to a game. Guess it depends on a number of things. Plus I usually find a game goes quicker as its played until some one surrenders. ~SDC~
Finally after many attempts got a decent game in, didn't make any major mistakes. ~SDC~
Can any one help this guy? All I can suggest is search the forums, I have seen some of the stuff you might want to look at but don't remember where... someone else should though. Sorry not very helpful I know. ~SDC~
Australian ~SDC~
Me too Dracko, though I was starting to get convinced it was a speech bubble. Might see if I can help create some misc logos and send them to you Evil, just after I wrap up what I'm working on. ~SDC~
I can't compare SEIV to GalCiv, they are both different and great for what they do. I like the idea of unique tech streams chosen at setup that cost "ability points" in SEIV. Though SEIV interface was usable, its not ideal for me either, meaning.... overall I prefer SEIII LOL. ~SDC~
