That's the problem. I know that Sysmetrix and Rainlender are different programs. I made sure that the Rainlender skin is in the Rainlender skin folder. It just won't work. It won't open the skin. I don't get it, so I'm giving up for a while. I'm brain dead, and it's time for bed..... Dabe <img src="http

Yup, another question...... I have downloaded and am using Pinchecl's P98 Sysmetrix. This guy is a master, for sure!!! But, I can't figure out how to use the Rainlender skin that goes with it. I have downloaded it off another site, not realizing that it was included with the Sysmetrix, but every time I try to run it, I get a message that states, "File cannot be opened" and then indicates the path where the p98.bmp is located, which is in the Skin folder for Rainlender. I don't get i

Thanks. I ordered it; downloaded it; and recolored the cursor set that originally set me onto this task. Now, color me happy. Dabe

I was trying to recolor a cursor set, using the suggestion from another thread (which I cannot find now) to open CursorXP, Options, then Color. Well, I don't have that feature. So, I was assuming that I'd then need Cursor XP Pro. Fine. But, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to download it. So, I'm getting the sense that it's not a free download, and even if I'm a registered OD user, I still have to shell out an additional $10.00 to get the pro version. It's not that I'm a

I have the same access problem when the link I open uses IE browser. If I copy the addy into the WC browser or SD's, then the link is good, and I can access my original intended download site, or whatever. It's a nuisance, but I'm stuck with it. It's what I've been doing for since I figured this out when I started this whole skinning thing almost two months ago. Funny you should mention this now. I just posted a message in the General Discussion page about a similar problem, in th

When I've got SD Central open, and I click on a link from it, ie from this discussions site, IE always opens. I'd really prefer that either SDC, Wincustomize or Avant Browsers open. But, I cannot seem to change this, even though I've checked the little box in "Tools-Options", for either one. Doesn't matter. What am I missing? Any ideas? I have a question.... Frogboy, you say that to keep a system operating at peak, you should check with Task Manager to be sure that some programs and processes aren't operating beyond certain thresholds. If they are, you say, shut them down. I've been doing that for a long time. Sometimes, it fixes the problem; sometimes it doesn't. But sometimes, I don't know if it's safe to shut a process or program down, or not. When in doubt, I usually just reboot, which is totally cont

One program that would do this fabulously is Anfy. http://www.anfyteam.com/ If you figure a way to incorporate it into Object Desktop, now that would be very, very cool. Hmmmmmmm..... maybe I'll give it a go. I haven't used the program in about a year. Keep us posted on what you come up with. Phoon, thanks for your quick reply. I love your themes. I even posted a comment on the Olive theme download site at Wincustomize. Olive is a work of art, and exactly the kind of appearance I'd like to achieve when I start skinning my own themes. And yes, I did download the latest driver off the nVidia website, in the hopes that it would solve things, which it didn't. And yes, my computer is becoming an antique in a hurry. I need my son to build me a new system. But, I don't have the money

Isn't DesktopX supposed to use very little resources? I ask because whenever I load up an object, it causes my resources to climb. If I load a large meter object, forget it. My CPU cranks away at upwards of 90-100%, thereby rendering my computer useless to accomplish anything else. And, how *useless* is that? I've tried to run the DesktopX themes, Olive being one of my favorites, but it became too onerous to run. So, I'm back with the standard bars and icons, though I can use Sysmetrix and

I think the Senate has no business dictating medical decisions. That method of terminating a pregnancy is not done lightly by anyone. And, they are just using the Pro Life hyperbole agenda to force this issue. What makes me really mad is that by the time a woman generally gets to that point in her pregnancy, she has like found out that something has gone horribly wrong, and chooses to abort. Sometimes, continuing the pregnancy will endanger the woman's life, but this ban doesn't even conside

I'm pretty sure it was the QNX Version 1.0 Theme. First the left hand drop down bar wouldn't quite dock properly, so I tried to unload it. That's when all hell broke loose. I was thinking that I just overloaded my theme browser. I guess I asked it to switch too much, too fast. It did protest too much. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/im

Weirdest thing happened tonight when I booted up my computer. First, the bottom bar was not on the bottom. It was about an inch, give or take, up from the bottom, and I couldn't get it down to where it belonged. Unacceptable, I thought. So, I loaded the object bar theme browser and loaded a new bar. Didn't like it, though it was where I wanted it, so I loaded another one. Then, I started going down the list of bars, trying one after another, just for the hell of it. There are bars I've ne

I found a major hiccup. I tried to point the skins list to the WinAmp 3 folder so I wouldn't have to redownload already downloaded skins (pure laziness on my part), and the whole program crashed. Took me a few minutes to figure out how to re-enable it, and reconfigure the skins list back to the mostly empty WinAmp 5 list. Live and learn........ Dabe BTW, thanks to the originato

Well, that makes sense. The playlist is such an integral part of WinAmp, though. It's like releasing an incomplete skin. I know there are lots of works in progress here, but that's different than an incomplete skin. So, I guess we can pick up where the original skinner left off? With permission, I suppose? I dunno. Thanks, Dabe <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" borde

Why is it that whenever I apply a skin to WinAmp, the playlist editor doesn't get skinned? This doesn't happen with all skins, but certainly most of them. Is it fixable? TIA for replies, Dabe

Yup, I found it. In Floating Bars options, you need to display %username% as "text only". DOH!!! I'm getting smarter. Thanks, Braniac. You gave me the incentive to go on looking. Dabe
