I'm not in the Senate but I hope the Senators will follow the sensible advice of Aldar. I remember when he was my King ;)
Space Napoleon
Wow, that's some achievement. Well done everyone, except me of course LOL
Yes, I agree with that - two is certainly better than the none I manage :) I had a very enjoyable Empire's Eve which was spent behaving so badly, only now a week later am I able to return home LOL
My Empire's Eve is up in the air at the moment. I may struggle to find a place to behave very badly in now. However, I'm sure I'll manage it in the end :D
Welcome XenocidalManiac. Great news about getting to 11th as well.
Wow, that is fast. Many congratulations to tgrz for becoming a Senator and also to Kelly Harvey in advance of what I'm sure will be a soon to come promotion to the Senate. Can I be the cleaner ;)
Yes, much rejoicing, particularly with the arrival of the good overlord Schilling to the Republic. The nervousness at some of the 'powerful' regents considering deserting is lessened by this news.
Welcome back Aldar. Gosh, what a nice sized Republic we've become. Though I may be the most inactive, I was still the first to swear loyaty to the King and shall never forget that solemn moment when the absolute rule was given up to the people. Much behaving badly :)
Hello, I see the republic has grown in my absence. Very good to see. Now for a holiday to remember... 28 February - Aldarian Presentation Day. Celebrated by wearing big red capes and false white beards, yelling ho-ho-ho and giving gifts, preferably alcoholic ones. Oh yes, and drinking heavily and behaving badly.
I don't know really - you want to keep the humour and patience you showed for so long in being a one-player empire and make sure people are aware of this history. How to do this, I'm not sure, though.
Agh, I can't keep up LOL Welcome to Kelly Harvey also.
Yes, a warm welcome to the Republic arlblaster :)
Yes indeed, very well done on making Admiral and you should play whatever you most enjoy definitely as I don't want to lose you and be left on my own in the Republic :)
Oh, that sounds a tough one. I'm playing in a huge, occasional galaxy as usual for my try on crippling with the 1.11 rules. An excellent start - right in the middle of the galaxy with a lot of sectors with multiple stars around me. I expanded and met the Carinoids, Scotlingas and Kwilasians all in quick succession. A problem for actual planets - I've had to settle for about ten after initial expansion but great for getting the money to keep my spending at 100% and move along in tech. Pretty weak
Oh well, that's quite good for me - I love the minors as I'm so trade oriented and I'd rather trade with them than the majors. However, time as you point out is the enemy and not the aliens :(
Are you trying to find the quickest way to score a lot of points? I've still not had a chance to play under the new rules unfortunately. Ah, maybe when I retire :)
This date forward shall forever be celebrated as "Republic Day" and celebrated by wearing disguises and behaving badly.
What an enlightened gesture, I dressed up as a vampire and drank some disgusting sickly red cocktail all night. I hope that fitted with the spirit of 'Republic Day' :D
Heh, not found the time yet - of course, for me it also means the end of the game will be in three weeks time or so :D
That did sound rather Borg-like, didn't it?
Nothing wrong with that - after all, we're the good Borg. Hope to be able to start one under the new rules soon. Perhaps I'll try crippling.
Not bad but I think Kingdom of Aldar is better because it clearly shows you're in charge :)
...and for the record, I tried a game with minimal researching last night and can report that this strategy will get your butt kicked.
I'm shocked ;) I also like Aldarians - we could be a new race... although there have only been two recorded sightings in the galaxy, the Aldarians never-the-less represent a threat not to be ignored :D Some fair ponts made by all, thanks.
Don't make me separate you two
Absolutely, that's a tough job for a little stick man :) The final word is, I guess, that it's a controversial subject which always encourages strong opinions on each side :HOT: Now, can we have our ball back please? ;)
I'll ignore the Yankee fan :p Anyway, good to see that your strategies won't be effected by the next changes. For myself, I don't have time to compete anyway so I just play for fun at the level I enjoy which is currently painful but I'm trying out crippling now. I would say, if you're not enjoying the game then it's pointless to play, no matter the metaverse effect. On the other hand, I do understand the competition involved and also the glory in what you've achieved as a 'o
Well done, my Lord :) At the moment I have a mercantile empire with +20 trade, +40 influence and +10 to diplomacy so I've never used speed. Of course, I don't play on maso ;) Will any of the changes coming up - starbase distance, removal of the 1 IP to keep aliens happy and so on effect your maso strategies?
Why thankyou. What a bunch of goody, goodys we are :D
