As do I, Star Pilot -- it is one of the great things about GC1, I think. But hey, I try to be cautious when I hand out ideas. Just in case what I assume is going to happen doesn't. ^^;

So, it wouldn't be possible to have sort of a way to choose which AI such a custom non-playing race would use? I always imagined there being a sort of "Race Thought Type" thing which you could select a standard race's AI to control it. Basically, uh, "Race Thought Type: Korx" would yield a custom race controlled by the Korx AI...or "Race Thought Type: Yor" would bring a custom race controlled by the Yor AI. Of course, this is assuming each civilization is go
Crap. Sorry, I read that wrong then. At least that's cleared up...
Way too much stuff to actually put in quotes You and I are thinking in totally different realities here apparently, and we'll probably never see eye-to-eye. My line of thought is along those of a "fun" scifi universe focusing more on interactions between races than keeping battles overly "realistic", since realistic b
Lucian Gyiira, I have one question for you. How do you figure a scout craft wouldn't be as manueverable in space as a 1 seater fighter craft? Remember, manueverability in space is a function of engine ratio (amount of thrust produced versus total mass). RL fighters gain maneuverability primarily through aero package. You can design a really fas
Why can't I mount these anti-ship bombs on a tiny hull FLT ship, like a scout ship? Surely that ship can carry more of the same weaponry as a bomber. And, it has room left over to mount the interceptors anti-fighter tech, to keep away pesky smaller fighters and interceptors. If we toss off the long term infrastruture of the scout ship, and go w
I was going to type this huge post detailing the Fightercraft's place in a starfleet, its uses, and what not to do with them...but AngleWyrm kinda showed a better idea than mine, so I won't. But I still have some ideas that expand the role of Fightercraft -- unfortunately, I'm unsure as to whether it would be too much micromanagement or not combined with the weapon differences. 1) Offensive and defensive roles for Fightercraft. Using fighters as a sort of qu
The two new races -- thanks to my great memory [never mind the fact I searched for them] -- are the insectoid hivemind Thalan and the bizarre-looking Iconians. The Iconians are not Precursors, but are from around the time of their existence. They created the Yor, who rebelled like in all our favorite Rise of the Robots-type novels and forced them into hiding. So, yeah, not entirely sure if that's quite correct, but it's as much as I know.
Ah, there are the screenshots. Awesome! I see you also lined up the weaponry and their corresponding defenses, and even color-coded them! That's a very nice touch, there. =D Small, but good.
s, and everything else. Makes sense, in my honest opinion.
...updating the first time, I mean. ^^;;;
^_^ Okay, I have it now. Don't know why it wasn't there after updating. Oh well, it's there now.
I know how to activate a campaign, but generally a campaign will have files to go with it, yes? There are none, as far as I can see...
I know where to look, but there wasn't anything there that was added. I don't quite know if it's because the folder is still Drengin.net or something else...
I downloaded the update, but cannot find it. o.o Did I do something wrong? ~SDC~
scussion sort of irrelevant. I was under the impression that missiles were only defended against by Point Defense, Beam weapons only by Shields, and Mass Drivers only by Armor. This isn't the case? o.o

"Supernova-esque type things divided by some incredibly big number." Maybe I should've just said, "explosion".
vided by some incredibly big number. Whatever. I call them shockwaves 'cause it sounds cool.

*raises hand* Still here, if lacking as much time as I used to have.
the "Horseface" concept sketch is of the Iconians, and the "Bug" concept sketch of the Thalan?
o in GalCiv I, especially on Gigantic maps, since instead of looking through star systems one can just locate the planet by searching for the name.
What kinds of planets are there going to be? I mean, it's not JUST planet quality anymore, right? So there will Earth-like planets, desert planets, etc. right? Or am I just shooting in the dark, here?
Oh yes, and I'm sure you noticed that all star systems can have habitable planets, eh? :p
