^_^ Right, I thought Scenario 4 might not be taken too well. I'm editing it to try and enhance the challenge. And "Enter the Drengin" is the real big start of the game, the first three being "set-up" scenarios and the fourth being a breather from combat. Each scenario from then on will have its little quirks [which can make a major difference, as you found] as far as available technologies and other things. So expect differing battle strategies for added thinking, though there are limit

^_^ Okay, I was just trying to make sure you didn't go bankrupt right away [just in case ship-costs overruled income]. I'll be sure to do that. Also, I did make sure to added some low-class planets to habitable systems and otherwise. Thus far, I'm just setting the foundation, and intended to do add "art systems" later on after some playing. Glad to see someone is playing. ^^ Oh, and if Scenario 4 seems odd, it's a "breather" scenario. ^^; I'm still unsure as to whether I should use it i

ok at Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri as an AI thing not to repeat -- but considering your excellent AI thusfar in the original Galactic Civilizations, I have no doubt that the AI in GalCiv 2 will be just if not more capable than the current AI.

Thanks. It's nice to see that someone's willing to help. ^^; This is confusing, since I don't know what to do here...I don't want to send it to the Library because it's a Beta, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a link to it or not... *sigh* Oh well. Forget the IM and e-mail stuff. If anyone wants to play the Beta and offer me hints, tell me how to improve maps, what to do to make it less/more difficult, etc. If I get in trouble for linking to the Beta, guess I just do

Uhm...well, I woke up this morning and realized how stupid my above post sounds. I suppose...well...anyone who wants to test the Beta campaign [version .1 at the moment] and provide constructive criticism, please IM me on AIM. My screenname is GennaRueben. If you don't have AIM, well...provide me an e-mail and I'll send you a link to the download. It's a .ZIP, so you'll have to extract everything to the Campaign folder. I just realized I forgot to provide a Readme, too...oh well, I'll m

Well, it doesn't matter now since I don't get it anymore. O_o That was incredibly odd. I greatly apologize for wasting your time, as it now works. Next time I do come across an error, I will take a screencapture of it beforehand.

I'm having trouble logging in. My e-mail and password is right, but I get an error message whenever I press "log in". This DOESN'T happen whenever I put in an incorrect password or e-mail. :notsure: EDIT: Nevermind, it doesn't work period. Is this normal? o.o [Message Edited]

I've been most surprised that, since Altarian Prophecy's release, absolutely no fanmade campaigns have been released that I know of. As such, I have taken it upon myself to construct a campaign -- I already have some scenarios for it finished. Actually, I've had the story in my head for a while, but not had to will to finish it until recently. With my free time for playing full GalCiv games being eaten away by school and scifi writing, I figure that what little free time I have left should be us

[quote]You mean wiping out Billions of people and annihillating the star system is evil? [/quote] But don't Good civilizations justify it by calling these people "unpure"? I've always imagined "Good" to be the "crusader"-type of Good, whilst Evil was the "Nazi"-type of Evil. And Neutral is where both elements exist within the same society. But that's another topic entirely... On topic, one think I want to see is maybe the possibility of certain planets having habitable moons...

1: Ships in orbit count as defensive garrisons, essentially, and thus one cannot invade a system until said garrison is gone. Thus, if you want to defend a system, build ships that are good at, well, defending [Defenders and Battleaxes, for instance]. Never tested to see if Colony Ships and Scouts and stuff prevent invasions, though... 2: Er, yes, you can. Just move a ship onto the star in question and it enters orbit. 3: I assume that standard Colony Ship's, uh, people [genera

Which version of the game do you have? I haven't had a crash in the game since...oh...I forgot when my last crash was. I haven't been hit by any bugs, at all. Also, be aware that Stardock has released a ton of patches that fix bugs and improve the game a lot. If you're playing the original, unpatched GalCiv, then I highly recommend you download the latest patch. ^^ It helps, a lot. [shameless promotion]...also, if you happen to be a creative player in the Metaverse who is really good at

I was lining up all the starships available in the editor up by race and when I looked at the Korx and Drath ships, they looked very, very similar -- in fact, the overall construction of their ships appear identical. Only the shape of the ship is changed. Why is this? Might it have something to do with the connection between the Drath and Korx storywise?

Oh, one thing I REALLY loved was the weaponry/defenses triad. It makes sense, really, that different races would focus on different types of weapons and armor. A race could also focus on being even in all categories, being lower down on all them overall [compared to other races] but being more flexible. It's an excellent concept, really, and if it's implemented right, the game would be greatly enhanced by them. I've always enjoyed employing strategy, so having different weapons and armor is a gr

I generally have civilizations at their default alignment [Drengin are pure evil, Arceans are neutral, Torians are chaotic good, etc.], except for the two Altarian Prophecy civilizations. I make the Korx Chaotic Good and the Drath Chaotic Evil. For balance, anyway. Two extremes, four non-extremes, and a middle-of-the-roader...

Drengin Empire - Pure Evil Altarian Republic - Pure Good Arcean Empire - Neutral Torian Confederation - Chaotic Good Yor Collective - Chaotic Evil If you have Altarian Prophecy: Dominion of Korx - Pure Evil Drath Legion - Pure Evil Although I personally prefer to make the Korx and Drath Chaotic Good or Evil for balance, they default as those.
