Restoring backup didn't fix it. Reinstalled W10, steam and GCIII back in business.

Old geforce 8400 gs. Already tried folder renames. also repaired 2012 redist. 2015 failed already installed. will try uninst/reinst next. Thanks
Not deliberately. still running 21.21.13.4201 1/31/2017 per system information. I'm unaware of anything I changed. It's an old machine but was playing small universes and The Campaign ok as long as I didn't run anything else. Thanks for the reply, Nothing like talking straight to the boss. Dave ps: If we can't fix it I can probably go to a 2 week old backup image.
Can't seem to get GCIII going. Was going thru Campaign, 2nd Altarian. Suddenly it crashes mid startup. I've checked/tried Verifying Game files (Steam, GOG, Epic) Page file size <a href="https://forums.stardock.net/486838/galactic-civilizati
Check your bank balance?
Zoom out so you can see the trigger point. Had to trip over this myself.
WooHoo, Time to drive DavesGoat back into the top 100. Thanks SD, Pat and Kyro
[quote who="Snarkotamus" reply="17" id="2164782"] Quoting kryo, reply 15it has nothing to do with hardware or backups. The metaverse software is not behaving correctly. Moving it to other servers has caused trouble in the past, so the only option is to troubleshoot it in-place. This is the type on information we should have been seeing a week ago. It would have prevented most of our rants. The more specific the explanation, the more likely we are to accept the situation and move alo
[quote who="clanlindsey" reply="18" id="2164792"]ASD needs a redundancy plan and a disaster recovery plan; I hope they learn that from this situation. I'm really not trying to be a PITA (pain in the ass) but these answers are not sratisfactory in the environment I come from. If SD were a bank, a hospital, an insurance company....the feds would have shut them down a long time ago. What I keep hearing is exactly how vulnerable the MV is and no one seems to think there's anything

CariElf, There's still something wierd re. fleets in the 1.8f fix. When I drive a fleet of constructors over a resource it seems to get stuck on the created starbase with the 0/0 movement. Have to disband, move off and back on to upgrade the SB. Also somewhere along the way the "F" fleet key changed. Somewhen earlier if one ship/fleet of a stack was highlighted and I hit the next ship/fleet(s) in the stack would pile on upto my logistics limits. Dunno when/why this went away but
