I found the problem. CCleaner kept disabling services no matter how many times I enabled them. I uninstalled CCleaner and the problem went away.

No. I ran SFC/Scannow, and did a Windows in-place upgrade, and the problem persists.
I just installed Start 11 v2.11. Now most of my start menu items will not run unless I right click and choose run as administrator, and the same is true of the same shortcuts on my desktop. Other shortcuts on the desktop, such as for documents and others, will not work at all. The same is true if I open File Explorer and try to open them from either the shortcut or by double-clicking the file itself. Since Stardock support is non-existent, even though they are supposed
I have three problems with Start 11 on an MSI Laptop Computer. First, I used Folderico to change the folder colors of all the folders in the start menu. The Start11 start menu shows the colors. The Windows Start Menu does not show the colors. Is this normal? Second, I want to get rid of the Taskbar Clock but can't seem to eliminate it no matter what I try. Thirdly, all of a sudden, the Microsoft People Icon appeared on the Taskbar. I have been using this computer for more than
You don't have to click anywhere. If you change one registry keyword value from 0 to 1, the version is always there on the desktop in the lower right corner just above the taskbar. If I turn on a Deskscapes animation, the version is no longer visible. If I turn off the animation and use a static background, the version is there. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/70/66/7066039/3c383c7d-c08f-494a-b5ce-6fc32f5ddc00.png" alt="" width="373" height="100"
This is a simple registry tweak, simply changing one keyword value from 0 to 1.
I have my Windows 11 Pro version visible on my desktop. If I choose to use Deskscapes 11 and turn on a dream, the version will no longer appear. If I go back to a static background, the version appears. Is there no way to prevent this?
I ran the purge and reinstalled, but it didn't help. The folders still appeared on the Start11 menu but not the Windows Start menu. Only Windows Ease of Access appeared, not Tools, System, PowerShell, or Accessories. Obviously Start11 was not the problem. When I clicked on an app in the Windows Ease of Access folder and told it to open the file location, all the folders were there so I know that was not the problem. That gave me an idea. I know that Window stores Start Menu items in m
I have downloaded the file and will try the purge first chance I get. Thanks for the help.
Mine worked fine until two days ago. Then all of a sudden they stopped showing up on the Windows Start Menu. Numerous reboots and power off and on and they still won't appear. I can get to them any time I need them, they just don't show on the menu. There is no apparent reason for this. sfc shows no problems.
There is no way to make screenshots. The start menus, both Start11 and Windows, disappear when you open the screen snip tool. If you open the screen snip tool first, there is no way to open the start menu. This is not rocket science. When you open the Start11 menu, the following folders appear as part of the menu: Windows Accessories, Windows System, Windows PowerShell, Windows Tools. When you open the Windows Start menu, they are absent. I have verified that the folders are present a
My start menu does not show 4 of 5 windows folders that appear in my Start11 menu. Windows Accessories, Windows PowerShell, Windows System, and Windows Tools are all missing from the All Apps list in the Windows 11 Start Menu. Only Windows Ease of Access Appears. All 5 of these appear just fine on the Start11 menu. Can anyone help?
I just installed Explorer Patcher (available on GitHub. If you install this, it will allow you to change and use any custom icon for your start menu WITH THE ICON CENTERED! It also allows you to change the Windows 11 Start Menu to open on all apps, as well as a slew of other things. Highly recommended. I have also learned that you can successfully use Explorer Patcher, Start 11, and Taskbar X together. It also solves the problem Atomic Alarm Clock not being usable with the Windows 11 taskbar,
I am running deskscapes newest version on two PCs, both running Windows 11 with latest update installed. On one PC, the deskscapes background runs just fine as both the monitor background and as the screensaver (same Dream for both). On the other, the same dream runs just fine as the desktop, but the screensaver does not work- the screensaver just doesn't ever kick in. Tried other dreams, same result. All other screensavers installed work just fine. Can't even preview the deskscapes scr
I discovered that Deskscapes was looking in the Documents\Stardock\Dreams folder and also the Users\Documents\Stardock\Dreams folder, which contained many of the same dreams. I deleted the Dreams in the latter folder. Now the duplicate Dreams no longer appear, but only 19 of the 31 Dreams in the Documents\Stardock\Dreams folder appear. The thumbnails for the Dreams that do appear all seem to be correct.
I have 31 Different Dreams located in my Documents\Stardock\Dreams folder. When I open Deskscapes, 4 of them show up twice (Sky Bling, Alien Worlds, Space Repair, and Space Scape SC). 7 of them (4K Aquarium X, Aquarium Fish Tank, Aquarium X, Colorful Aquarium CA3, HD Aquarium X, Komodo Sunset, and Rocky Aquarium) do not appear in Deskscapes at all. Some of the Dreams that do appear have incorrect thumbnails. How can I correct this?
I tried. It does not show up in any of the categories in the startup tab in Task Manager.
That's the problem- there aren't any. Down in the lower right corner of the screen is a little white box that says Multiplicity, but I can't click on it- it doesn't do anything. I also get a bright red border around my screen that comes and goes. All that goes away if I stop all Multiplicity processes in Task Manager. I need to stop Multiplicity from starting up every time I start Windows and I can't seem to be able to find a setting in Multiplicity to do this.
I installed this and configured it on one computer, then changed my mind and never configured a second one. Is there a way to shut it off, or must I uninstall it altogether?
That did the trick. I redownloaded the dream, installed it, and it popped up when I opened Deskscapes, and it is now running on my desktop perfectly. I really, really appreciate all the time and trouble you went through to help me out on this. How do I thank you on this forum?
I'll give it a try and let you know how it turns out, probably later tonight.
The files for this Dream are indeed located in this folder. I see a cache.ini file and the avi file just as I do for my other downloaded Dreams. I also have the .Dream file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Deskscapes 10, and both Red Disaster v2. Dream and Red Disaster v2.2 Smooth Transition.Dream in Documents\Stardock\Dreams. My other downloaded Dreams, such as Aquarium Overstock Fish, are also similarly placed on both the functioning and the non-functioning computers. Aquarium Overstock F
The problem is not in playing the Dream- it doesn't show up at all as an available for use installed Dream, so there's no way to try it with a different setting. On this computer, it is as if the Dream just doesn't exist, whereas on the other one it shows up just fine.
I have done a restart. Right now aquarium overstock fish, which I downloaded, is running on this laptop very nicely. I am using Deskscapes 10.3. The Red Disaster v2,2 smooth transition was usable and ran before my Win10 20H2 clean install. All my other downloaded Dreams are fine on this laptop. I have Deskscapes 10.3 on another laptop, also running Win10 20H2 installed through an in-place upgrade rather than a clean install, and Red Disaster shows up just fine in that one (it is located in th
I used the link, downloaded it again, and placed it in the folder with all the other animations I have. It still doesn't show up in Deskscapes as an available animation.
