It is a subject that has been talked about many times before in various other posts. However at this stage, although many of us agree with you on the idea of being able to build older items, there appears to be no hint of this happening from the devs... One thing i would like to see implemented in a future update is the right click info on AI ships be hidden from a player until they have the relevant espionage level. This currently works with starbases so why not with the ships too. This would also increase the 'fun' aspect of the game as you would not get a heads-up on the type and level of their firepower. In respect to this i think a logical addition to the above would be to limit the trade in arms (or even being able to see them)

Or to elaborate for you Xeno communications - Universal Translator - Diplomatic Relations - Trade

Rasori's way is indeed one possible way of doing it. However if you are playing a Metaverse game you cannot use the mods. So if you are only using the image for yourself at the start then load the .png image (120x120 or above for best results) into 'my documents/my games/GalCiv2/portraits '. Clicking the arrow keys under the race image on the starting config screen will then cycle through to the new image you loaded. Custom portraits are only visible at the beginning of the game and f

I would also like the production report to be accessible through out the turn. Maybe it could be changed so that clicking on the date brings up the report again. This would be a very nice addition for 1.3 or maybe one of the expansion packs! Thanks JJ

MoO3 Dude you do not want to get that pile of excretion!! I think i can cover it quite nicely with: The Phantom Menace of video games.. They had all the time... all the money.... and all the talent they could ask for. and yet still delivered mediocre graphics and an obtuse interface. a host of minor yet annoying imperfections: no ship upgrade no fleet reconfigure no planet/system na

1. Make sure you are running the latest version of the game. Currently that is 1.20.035 as some of the older versions did have this error. 2. If your graphics card does not support DX9 then you will be seriously hampered playing this game (parts will maybe not work at all), so you should look towards getting a new card. One thing to remember about this is that most of the new cards AGP or PCI require a lot of power to run, so please ensure you have an adequate power supply for the job

In the settings have you made sure that 'Throttle Framerate' is switched on as this sounds like the old 'overheating graphics card scenario'! Other than that please install 'SmartException' from the Stardock Central program. Make sure that the program is running and then start your game as normal. If the game crashes it will generate an Exception report that can be emailed to [email protected] along with your debug.err. This will enable the devs/help team

OK one thing you may not have tried but might help is to edit prefs.ini and set 'skip intro'. Set this to 1 to skip the cinematics at the start and then see how that goes. Looking at your debug file i would say that there is nothing inherently wrong with the game and it would appear to be the specifications for your machine that are the issue. I am running the game on an old Athlon 2.4 (whilst i build the new machine) so you should have no issues there except on gigantic maps where s
