Q. You guys are not trying to load a saved game up from before a patch update are you? If so .... dont as it will cause a CTD. If you have implimented a patch update then start a fresh game, do not reload an old one. This has, as far as i can remember, been the rule of thumb on GC1 & 2 upgrades. May be wrong on this but try and see. If its your first game and it is still crashing please be patient help is on its way <img src="http://images.s

Ok as a common rule dont upgrade Galciv II until you finish the current game you are playing. Most of the upgrades are fine to integrate, however since the days of GC1 there have been more errors than not if you upgrade and then try loading a saved game. You should be fine to start a new game, save and then reload that. Might be an idea to test this as if that doesnt work then you will need further technical advise.. DG

Draginol I would just like to say you guys have done a hell of a good job on GCII. As a member from the begining of GCI (windows version ) i have seen the amount of effort and time you have put into the past game and are continuing to pour into this one too. Whilst there are aspects of the game i dont exactly like (ship design screen not scrolling for instance) the majority of the game is outs

HI all With this forum becoming less and less used i figured that there may still be a few people out there that have just purchased this game, are returning to it, or just have a technical issue. If you fall into the above criteria it can be very frustrating posting a message here and not hearing a response for a couple of days or so because we are all at the Galciv II forums . So to make things faster for you, if you

Ok here goes 1) Portrait = 265x265 png 2) Logo = 128x128 png 3&4) Click on my account at top of page, then images and the info is there for you. Images will be resized automatically but it is better if you do it first. If you are looking for a quick resize program try Irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com/) as it is so simple it hurts <im

Indeed I only use Screenshot utility as i am too lazy to Alt+Tab out of the game each time i want a screenie , SU also sits in your sys tray and can be activated at any time without having to open up a program first. Handy if you want a quick screenshot taken.

One fix i found to not get the ships back again if i am playing a different race is to take the saved ship dsigns in my games\galciv2\metaverse\ships, or my games\galciv2\ships folder and move them into a differnt location with the race name as a header for the folder. That way if i am playing as the humans one round and the drengin the next i can easily move the custom ships out of the GCII folders for the Humans and in for the Drengins <img src="http

The easiest way to capture a screenie is to press the PrtScn button and then Alt-Tab out of the game and open up an image editor (I use Irfanview as its quick, easy and good) and paste the saved image. PrtScn saves the image to the clipboard. As for third party programs, i am using Screenshot Utility (http://www.screenshot-utility.com) which comes with a 30 day trial ($20 to register). This program can be configured to take an image with a pre-defined hotkey combination and also save

1. Just take a fully loaded battlecruiser and park it on the square that has their homeworld parked on it. I find that having an alien race turn up and sit a bloody great battlecruiser in your own front yard tends to move them into declaring war on you LOL If not hit them with everything you have.. Hard and fast
