If I understand what you're describing OD does the same thing to me and always has (I'm now on the current Plus version). I'm not sure the other folks quite understand what you're saying, as it is only seen if you have a cpu usage meter running while you pass the mouse over the untabbed docks and you actually watch the meter. The meter will show the boost while the mouse is passing over the untabbed dock, and the more you move the mouse around over the dock the more the cpu usage will stay hig

Hi guys&gals: I'm thinking it might be easy (?) for you to raise the zooming limit for untabbed docks higher than 192 pixels. I don't know if there was a reason you set it to that, but personally I'd like to be able to set it a lot bigger. I use photographs for icons and there's just only so much I can make look decent within 192. Perhaps you could put the limit to something almost ridiculous like 800 or 1000 and let us play? If setting it too big sucks the life out of my box I coul
Did you try this? : Don't put any docks on the top edge or the left edge of your monitor. If you're running 2 monitors, don't put any docks on the top edge or the left edge of the primary monitor - putting them on the top edge or the left edge of the secondary monitor seems to be ok (except auto-hiding docks on the shared left/right edge of dual monitors "hide" by sliding over in a visible state to the other monitor on my system). I know you said you tried "...etc" but I don't
In case anyone else is/was/will be a little hesitant to do this: It didn't seem to cause a problem. I renamed or deleted the files directly in the folders within explorer and renamed or deleted the corresponding .txt and .bmp preview files within the "ThumbsCache" subdirectory. I did have one preview that didn't want to come up for some reason but it refreshed itself after I loaded the desktop. Here's another little tip: That T
Hi: Can I rename or delete the desktopX ".dxtheme" extension files directly from within Windows Explorer or do I need to use the DesktopX interface? I'm creating a lot of garbage out there and it would be easier to reorganize it from Explorer, but it occurs to me that doing so might cause a problem depending on how DesktopX references and manages them. Thanks.
That's how the tabbed docks work and as far as I know there's no way to hide the tabs themselves. Some of the tab themes are pretty transparent, for example "Bubble", if it's purely a cosmetic issue. And of course you could use text and theme coloration to blend the tabs into your wallpaper. But I don't think you can actually put them into a hidden state. You could go with an autohiding untabbed dock, but I'm guessing you already know tha
Thanks Hippy. I thought maybe my brain synapsis were missfiring again.
Within SkinStudio I'd like to be able to tweak the transparency level of the window titlebars on skins that are already using transparency there, i.e. make them a little more or a little less transparent. I found where to adjust the statusbar transparency and made it work, but I haven't found a similar setting which works for the titlebars. Could someone point me to the setting for the titlebars? Such as "Taskbar/Taskbar Background/Horiz
Well maybe I babbled too much, as usual. Even though you're using OD free and NvDVD Player, try moving any docks you have on the left or top over to the right or bottom. If that doesn't get it, try turning off the zoom feature. That's worked for me on a few different pieces of multimedia software. (Are you sure that your WinAmp or Media Player doesn't kind of clunk/chug around noticably worse when you move or resize the vide
Ah, an opportunity to perhaps help out one of my favorite skinners. I run WinDVD and OD+ will interfere with it as well. Here's how I get around it, it sounds a little odd but it works for me and maybe it will for you as well: 1. The docks that cause the least trouble are tabbed docks with magnification turned off. Tabbed docks with magnification turned on are almost always ok too. 2. I keep any untabbed docks only
Out-friggin'-standing!! My favorite enhancement would be the ability to save docks individually instead of as a "theme" so that I could add them individually to the theme I'm using. This is perhaps similar to post #7 above - if I could click on a dock entry to load another dock that would be just great. I wouldn't mind even if I had to go into the configuration settings to add one. In my case it's an issue of wanting separate project-spec
I work around the issue by not having any docks on the top or left edges of the monitor. Bottom and right edges in any combination, size, or amount work best for me. Docks in the top left corner (i.e., position:top/alignment:left or position:left/alignment top) seem to guarantee the conflict. Otherwise, turning off any OD magnification and keeping the docks small increases the odds of a dock on the top or left working with video software. F
Bump.
Well I have one other thought and it's reaching again, but I'll throw it out here anyway. If you're using untabbed docks you might try switching them over to tabbed docks with the magnification off. The tabbed docks seem to be less demanding and intrusive than the untabbed. It might get you a dock on the bottom?
Thanks Koasati. At least now I know it's not just me (not that I was ever losing any sleep over it).
Ya I put untabbled docks on my second display. I think what you're missing is this: Go into the Object Dock Properties window for the untabbed dock. Select "Positioning" in the left section of the window. Within the Positioning settings in the right side of the window you should see "Monitor" as the third pull-down option, it will probably be blank. Click on the pull-down arrow for "Monitor" and it should let you select "Display 1" or "Disp
I don't use Opera but I do use Audacity with Object Dock Plus without any problem. This is reaching a little bit, but as I read this I wondered if this is the same type of video conflict discussed in another thread in this forum, "PowerDVD andOD+", sitting down at eleven days "Replied" date here. Easy way to find out: Move any docks you have on the left side or the top over to the right side or the bottom, see if your problem goes away. If
I've bumped it back up for you. It should be right below this thread now.
Bump for Mr Haylebob
The short version: Try moving any docks you have on the left side or the top over to the right side or the bottom, i.e. don't put docks on the left or the top. For the long version and some other ideas see the string subject: "PowerDVD and OD+" which was showing as "19 days" since the last comment when I posted this. I'm not trying to be short, I just don't want to go through all of this again. Thanks. (And to avoid any misundersta
You're likely going to have to approach that from the side of the spyware defense maker. You might try contacting them with a brief description of ObjectDock (maybe "autohiding toolbar on steroids") and see if they can help. In the meantime, it sounds like the spyware defense is not differentiating between the popup objects being generated by ObjectDock on your machine and popup objects being generated via the internet which is a technique us
Well I couldn't resist, I just had to play with it some more. It does seem like you can have docks on the left and top and not cause a problem with video software (in my case ATI TV and WinDVD) if you follow some guidelines. I'm just talking about untabbed docks here, and only the docks on the left and top: 1. Had no luck at all with any dock at Position: Left / Alignment: Top, or Position: Top / Alignment: Left. Both those arrangements ca
Thanks for the feedback qtrz. A little bizarre, isn't it? I see that we're both using the same video card, kind of leaves a little itch in the back of my head. I'm sure that there's some rational explanation as to why leaving the top and left free dodges the problem, which of course is another little itch in the back of my head. Also odd to me that the video software and object dock will peacefully co-exist in any case as lo
Thanks for the info Septimus. I'll brazenly show my ignorance here: What's VLC? Thanks. (And again, just so it doesn't get lost in the little booklet I typed up there, I do avoid the problem by not having any docks on the top or left edges of the screen.)
