also if you are trying to use bitmaps in place of tga's make sure that you turn translucency off otherwise the bmp probably won't show right.

two options that are readily available here are desktopx and sysmetrix. sysmetrix is free, and really easy to get running so why don't you check it out. click on the sysmetrix library and at the top there should be a link to where you can download it. then you can comeback here and get some sysmetrix skins.

you have to edit the skin. not to complicated but not easy either. of course if the author includes it you don't. there is not "setting" to make the text on the right disappear. what happens is the size of that panel is just large enough to show the icons, not the text.
