you don't download them per se. When you view them it counts as a download for the submitter. I guess you could right click saveas if you really wanted to.

thats probably your best bet. but do you know if windows will detect the windows cd? OF course there might be somebackups that didn't corrupted and windows might automatically fix everything.

oh you just have to make one object that can clone itself, but make it so its clones don't clone themselves. in sub Object_Onscript enter you would have the object check its name to see if its the original and if its not it wouldn't clone itself, while the original would keep popping them babies out until all the drives were covered. I don't think at this point he can do most of that stuff chas. Right now he is basically limited to the command prompt. Whatever did this to his computer has taken away his main ability to fight it: programs. Windows programs like spybot and the virus scanners really can't be run very well through the command prompt. I doubt he can even do a system restore. So right now if I was him I would consentrate on saving what he can and then reformat and then reinstall windows and find out how to st

when you get to the option to log into the safemode by pressing f8 (or whatever button it is for you) repeatedly at the startup before the bootskin comes into play there should be several options for safemode. I have xp pro so it might be different if you have xphome

have you tried booting up into dos safemode?
get tweakui from microsoft. in it there is an option to remove the shortcut overlay. do that then restart. tell me if it works
log into your account in safemode. open up the task manager. in the run diologue type in explorer.exe tell me what happens
