the password shouldn't effect it. Once you are the owner of the folder its yours. When you changed the owner did it say that the admin was the owner, or that a person with administrative abilities was the owner. they look a lot alike there Let me try another question, does it say anything about why it won't log into your account at safemode?

there isn't much in the way of activex controls that I know of. For the most part since they all don't work as would be expected in say webpages with dx mostly its fiddling around with them. If you can find a book that does cover them in good detail please let me know so I can go get a copy

I like taking stuff apart and seeing how it works. In the process sometimes things don't get put back right and I have to figure it all out again. It really helps for a lot of problems, and causes many too... Alright go into safe mode and logon as the admin. Find the folder/s you want to access in the explorer. right click and choose properties. click on the security tab. click on the advanced b

alright startup in safe mode as the admin. as the admin you can change the security settings on any folder so you can access them. I have forgotten how to do it but it is relatively simple. you just need to set the owner to the admin, something to do with right click and the options menu. Now that you have control over your files you can save them then reinstall windows. This little admin trick is why you always want your admin password protected, you can do anything you want in safe mode i

Are you talking about the controls that come with dx (there's not many) or other controls on your computer. To use activex controls. go up to script menu and pick out an activex control. then to change the settings in them type in control.setting = whatever or set something equal to it if it gives back information like x = control.setting. In both cases setting is the name of the setting listed on the right. when you type in control. you should get a popup list that shows all of the availabl

I did troubleshoot and found the error before I posted, I was afraid to touch my computer when it first popped up. I just played you guys on for a little bit. But it was a really strange message. almost like windows popping up a message and saying that your monitor can't be found, and then you ask yourself "How am I looking at this message?" What I think happened is that since iconpackager creates a new registry value for the c:\ icon and I removed that icon from its place when I applied

you could get a uxtheme patcher (thats what runs the normal visual styles (not windowblinds) ) and you could use the large amount of msstyles (again not windowblinds) with it. but I would advise against doing this because it hacks your systemfiles. Windowblinds is the way to go.

Travis went to sleep. I figured out what was happening. I had downloaded the Chinese Spring Festival Iconpack. I saved the folder to my desktop. Then I opened the folder and clicked apply. IT all worked good. Then I decided my desktop was cluttered and cleaned it off. In the process I moved that folder with the spring icons in it. It seems that Iconpackager didn't make a new folder in the iconpackager directory with the icons in it and was looking for the icons on the desktop. Since it

I have the recovery console installed so I am not worried about that, I don't have to startup windows if something goes wrong. It is very real though. I don't think its serious because I can save things, but I can't open folders. very strange indeed. Its like my explorer got lost in the jungle and met that guy in the middle of it and decided never to come back out. added note: I trekked into my jungle and found my explorer. I beat him up and he came back home and everything
