actually first go into the windowblinds directory and if there is a folder there named gt2 or anything close to it delete it. I used to have problems with this. Since you have tried to install it multiple times there might be multiple folders with the gt2 name with little numbers or stuff behind it. then delete the cat file. the redownload gt2 and hopefully it will install right.

have fun with the broken xp. When you crack things they usually don't always work right. Also advertising that you have a cracked copy isn't a good idea. I suggest that either you go buy a real copy or revert back to whatever legal copy you had before.

and I think the ps/2 port actually works better for the mouse. I don't have one on this computer so I wouldn't know. Supposedly there is a problem with the usb ports. When I updated xp my usb ports stopped working. It took me forever to get them back. And every once in a while they stop working and I have to scan for harware changes. I think xp forgets about the usbs every once and awhile

the link that I gave you links to microsoft. the files will work if you read the directions correctly. You said that you saved a backup of the file right. well try this. delete the file and then restart. hopefully since this is required then it will ask you to insert the cd. if it doesn't then boot up in dos and move the backup into the system32 directory

you can make the glassy effect in most any decent photo editing program. the trick is to know how. its not some automated process. Well there are some plugins for photoshop that will do this, but not very well.

once you have the disks made. follow the instructions to put them in and get everything in order. don't try to reinstall windows right off. Try to see if you can access other files on your system. if you can, replace the ntoskrnl.exe with your backup. If you can't reinstall windows.
