explorer never crashed. nothing bad happened. I deleted explorer.exe in its entirety. My accident was thinking that windows would automatically ask me to insert the cd and reinstall explorer.exe. it didn't so I had to reinstall the whole dern thing. xp is very stable. I haven't had a single crash. Sometimes third party devices and software don't always work right, but thats where you learn more about windows. begin mac rant: If apple had as many third party apps and drivers
macs aren't as fun or cheap as pcs.
I have a 2.4 and 512 and it used to work just fine. I had no reason for it so I don't use it anymore.
http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/index.php?showtopic=5032 you have to be a member there. its free
if you buy the cd you become a level 3 user here. that means you have unlimited downloads. If you buy a subscription you become level 4 and along with the unlimited downloads you get the wincustomize browser (another program which lets you browse winc in style), the wincustomize systray object which can notify you when new things are uploaded, you can get some premium suites, and you can rate. I think those are the differences. you do not need a subscription to wc but it does add some benefit
I forgot which color, but one of the colors in the pallet gets used as the progress bars background (probably the first or the last one). And the size is supposed to be 640 x 480 so I don't know why you get a white border.
thank you old sapphire. might do that if I have the time. There already are a lot of calenders made after themes. and I have little use for system stats, but I know some people like them. What I was thinking about doing was creating one object that had all of them in it (clock, calender, and systemstats). I know this has already been done, but I have yet to find one that I would use.
I think there should be 4 sections. the first one would be full of the icon packs like pixel pirate's gloss, the second would contain the docklets, the third would have the themes, and the last would have the various assortment of icons.
the accident was me assuming windows would do something it wouldn't
I didn't accidently delete them
Isn't that where ronald and his little fry friends play?
I totally deleted it. What happened was I changed it to see if something worked. It didn't. So in my frustration I though that if I got rid of them windows would notice on the restart and ask me to put in the windows cd and reinstall the originals. I went into the recovery console and killed them all. then I restarted. windows didn't notice that explorer was missing so I was missing the startbar and all the other things that explorer does. Finally I just reinstalled windows. It all works
already got that a while back. its what inspired me
did you know that your computer will run without having explorer.exe on it anymore. I didn't, but I do now. wierd. now my question is how do I get it back without reinstalling windows?
ho ho. Are you sure its the analog clock 3 plugin. thats the image clock one. If it is then ho ho. if not then ho ho
what I have always found interesting is that sometimes the most guilty persons of bad debating are some of the intelligent people. I have seen numerous times where in some scientific forums that instead of a decent objective reply all they get is "you are wrong. you are an idiot" or something of that nature. It really makes you wonder how the person who replied got to become a scientist or if they are a pseudoscientist.
ended up needing ctrl-alt-delete myself! [Message Edited]
