in stardock central go to the file menu, archive/restore, and choose restore existing. find a previous version of dx and it should revert back to it. /me thinks you have object desktop but is not sure

yes you could do that, but in doing so you might lose a lot of the quality. When the aac is turned into a wav to be put on the cd it still has its idiosyncrasis...its not the same as the wav that was turned into the aac. And turning that wav back into an mp3 opens up the possibility that those idiosyncrasis will be noticed. Not to mention the fact that you just wasted a cd.

good I was pretty sure I was right just thinking from a common sense angle. but, a lot of skins have that little notice that pops up telling you not to modify the skin. the pop-ups on my two skins say that you just can't distribute modifications. I wish people would change it to that to avoid confusion.

you should not notice none to very little change in the cpu and memory. if anything it might be better. All of those little things that you want like menus logoff/shutdown dialogues, toolbar icons, animations, etc. that are supported in windowblinds and not in msstyles can be put into the windowblind if the msstyle author or somebody else created them. One good example is ChaNinja's Simplex skin. I have converted it to windowblinds and am waiting on ChaNinja to give me permission to upload it

I haven't figured out how to either. supposedly winamp5 supports aac (the format itunes are saved in), but apple must have done something strange with them because I have tried hard to get them to work, and they just won't.

you can make small modifications of the skins all you want as long as you don't distribute the modified skin without permission or claim the work as your own. At least this is what I believe. If you aren't supposed to then I am guilty as charged. I learned/am learning from other's skins by opening them up in skinstudio and playing around with them. I have been working on it for a while...I did bother...and I have changed most of it. For a while I meant to keep a lot of that turtle shell stuff, but over time and skinning the turtl shell gradually started looking out of place. I personally never liked the dock. It was the docklets that did stuff better then dx. Now that avedesk is out, thanks to andreas, I have all of the docklets that used to lock up in the corner with out a background arranged in the position that I like. When it comes down to it, the taskbar is much better suited for a place to minimize things to.
