How's you mom doing, Jamie...hope the stay in the hospital wasn't for anything serious....? She had an extra-bad asthma attack. Although she had to spend a few days in the hospital, she's coming out as well as one can expect. Pretty much back-to-normal.

The results' show is over. After a season of ups and downs, Fantasia Barrino ended the evening as the new American Idol. Tonight's show was done very well. It was a two-hour show. The first half-hour was a "pregame" show, and then the 90-minute show itself was a good showcase of the entire season. Our baby doesn't like cereal either. He does however like to eat real rice. My wife makes watery rice in the rice cooker. (Japanese call it okayu) Instead of one cup of water per one cup of rice, you mix 6 cups of water for every cup of rice. (Don't forget to wash the rice before cooking it!) The Natsu Basho (Summer Grand Sumo Tournament) has just finished. At the beginning of the day, Hokutoriki led the field with 13 victories. Yokozuna Asashoryu was in second place with 12 wins. All that Hokutoriki needed to do was to beat a new entrant into the upper division named Hakuho. The language that a person learns in school is prescriptive. I think that it is good for language students to learn how language should be spoken.
