Hello there my friends. I hope that you're having a happy Valentine's Day Saturday. We're doing fine here. Kazuko is at the hairdresser, getting her hair cut. Apparently she is going to have it cut short. -That will keep the baby from pulling it all the time. (He likes to grab stuff.) We'll get a picture of her "new look" in here some day. While Kazuko is out, I get to watch baby Kenny. He is in his baby chair, watching me type this. He seems to be enjoying himself...

I have American Idol tie-ins and President Lincoln stuff. It is kind of funny what key words in the articles make advertising "hits." Good job BW, keeping us cognizant of the advertising in an interesting way. Now I will always be sure to check which sorts of "buzz words" I am using.
Hey there friends. I was thinking about a topic for a blog today. After a bit of contemplation, I decided to write about something that I haven't written about before. I have written a lot of articles about: my job, my family, television shows that I like, my house, baseball, video games, Japan, sumo wrestling, and a few on politics. I haven't ever written an article on one of my bigger interests: pro wrestling. I started watching wrestling regularily in 1980. Be
On Thursday-night FOX television, there is a show called "Tru Calling." It is about a lady who works in a morgue. Once in a while, this lady "meets" a decedant who will ask her help to "fix" what it was that caused him or her to die. After being asked, her day rewinds, and she has to solve a mystery surrounding that death. If you haven't seen it, I can understand. It goes up against "Friends." That said: FOX had a good idea to give a quick recap of the first half of the show once p
Happy Early Valentines Day to all of you out there. Since the holiday lands on a Saturday, we here at schools across America will have to observe the holiday on Friday. Working at an elementary school, one can almost cut through the electricity with a knife. The kids are all hopped-up on chocolate, and the good-will that only a Valentine can bring. I really like the way that kids are allowed to enjoy the holidays when they're this age. Since I work as a specialist, pulling k
You're listing a lot of the reasons why I don't like teaching high school. I am licensed K-12, but I think that I would have to be pretty desperate to take a job in a high school. Elementary school is a much more sanity-inducing environment. (I guess that I like Junior High School too.) High School students have so many issues, that compulsary education in an institution not-of-their-choice can be just a breeding ground for conflict. It is tough to be a tormented teen who is forced
I fear change, but it seems like that is one of the components of being successful. I mean I don't fear it enough to avoid it. I just like to find my "comfort zone" and stay there. Anyway, provocative article. I enjoyed reading it. It will give me something to reflect-upon until I forget about it. (We all forget about a lot of things, don't we?) Thanks for posting on my comment board. That was enough to make me visit your weblog. You're nice. Now
Honest Abe, what would we be doing had you not come along. When I think of Abe Lincoln, the following images come to mind: tall guy, big hat, a beard, the Gettysburg Address, a five dollar bill, and a penny (before Lincoln the fiver and the penny were blank. Look it up!), the Civil War, Illinois, and a log cabin. If I could think of one word to describe President Lincoln, I would choose: "good." Honest Abe, what would we have done without you? If it weren't for the c
Now I want to know what the contraversy was about. I hope that wahatever happened will blow over, and eventiually everyone will get along. I like harmony in the weblog.
Hi there friends. Have you been having a nice evening? I have been having fun. After watching "American Idol," my wife and I spent some time playing Dance Dance Revolution. That was fun. By the way, what did you think about tonight's American Idol? I was pretty sure that Diana and Fantasia were going to win. I am surprised that Matthew got third place. (I voted for Diana.) Anyway as I said in my headline, I have some experience of playing Scrabble with kids. You
No fever. Just congestion. Hopefully he'll be better soon. He seems to be beginning to get over it now.
There certainly has been a lot of obfuscation coming out of the White House today (Feb 10th,) hasn't there? There must be something out there worth hiding. Wakhonta: Try to write in paragraphs! I don't think that I have been able to read any of your most recent postings. Is your return key broken?
I think that Amy Adams has had enough camera time to earn herself a following. I'd bet that she gets voted through to the final twelve unless her group of eight audition is a disaster. I'd also predict Scooter Girl going to the wild-card round. I'd bet that she was number 33 in their picks (either her or Mr. Huff.) You can see my Idol commentary on my weblog.
The first eight finalists have finished their performances. I was REALLY impressed with the first group. This is probably one of the strongest top-32 finalist shows that I have seen. I think that I enjoyed everybody's performance. I don't like the studio audience though. I think that there was a bit more pressure with just the singers and the judges. That said, Simon was pretty chipper tonight, wasn't he? Diana DeGarmo- Really good. She is my favorite so far. (She's who
Hi there friends. I hope that you all had a good day! I am making a pit-stop here at home. After I finish writing this weblog, I am going to go out and run some errands. I will also run to pick up dinner. We're having a fancy dinner tonight... Burger King! On the way home from work today I stopped by the barber to get a haircut. I suppose that it turned out okay. That is a really hard part about moving. Since we moved to Monticello, I haven't had my hair cut by the same
Sorry, I was interrupted for a second. I really disliked "Ace Ventura," and I didn't like "Hot Shots" either. "Ace Ventura" was almost bad enough for me to swear-off Jim Carrey movies for good. Fortunately I was able to get over it enough to enjoy "Man on the Moon," and "Liar Liar."
I hear that they're illegal in California, and in one other state. (Pennsylvania?) They say that if they're let loose in the wild, they may displace native animals. They probably wouldn't survive in many places in the US besides Southern California, Florida, and the warmer spots in the Southeast though. Other than that, you can find them in a few pet stores, plus there are a number of breeders across the country. They're really good low-maintenence pets.
Kaco, look back a few blogs. Other people writing in determined that three months old may be too young for that.
Hi, KarmaGirl. I am Kenny's mother. Thank you for feeling sorry for our little son and giving us good advice to survive this newly parenthood. I have a question since I heard that you are a nurse. You know the Vicks Vepo Patch that you have recommended to use to comfort Kenny's breathing. Does it still work to our 3 months old son with Bronchiolitis? I wonder if it's good for my usband also. He sometimes has some bad coughs at night, and I feel awfully sorry for him. Kenny is takin
You know, I may have to disagree with you on Popeye. I actually didn't really mind that one. I saw it a few weeks ago, and I was able to sit through the whole thing. What I liked about Popeye was that there were a lot of "Thimble Theater" characters in the cast of characters.
It isn't often that I discuss politics in my weblog. I think that it is too divisive, so I try to leave my personal views on things out of here as often as possible. (Of course the most disparaging comment towards me in a weblog came in when I wrote about the Spice Girls. Go figure...) I suppose what I have to say is less "opinion" than "fact," so I doubt that there isn't much room for debate, rather my point does lend itself quite well to plain "commentary." Listening to the morn
Hello there friends. I hope that you're having a happy evening. After work I plowed my driveway. It is good and clear now. I hadn't plowed for a week because I didn't really have the inclination to run to the hardware store to buy a new belt for it. Now that I have, it cuts through the snow like nobody's business. In the evening, my wife and I had to take baby Kenny to the doctor. He has been coughing and wheezing for a couple of days. The doctor said that he has "b
Hello there friends. Today is Monday. No American Idol tonight. I am looking forward to Tuesday's competition, and Wednesday's results show. Tomorrow's contestants include: Fantasia Barrino, Diana DeGarmo, Jennifer Hudson, Marque Lynche, Matthew Metzger, Ashley Thomas, Erskine Walcott, and Katie Webber. Of the first eight, I am most eagerly anticipating Katie Webber's performance. I am however more than willing to be surprised by anyone's performance. Regarding my
They're really easy to care for. Clean up once or twice a week, feed daily, and let them run in the exercize wheel. They don't even smell... much. The only problem is that they may be a bit squeaky when they're running in their wheels. You might need to let them run all night in a room far from where you sleep. Another thing is that they're not exactly affectionate. They like to be alone, and they're not very smart. They're cute as all get-out though.
I have three pet hedgehogs at my house. Their names are Skippy, Yuki (brother and sister,) and MozoMozo (their mother.) They're each 2-3 years-old. They're really cute. When I fed the hedgehogs tonight, I inadvertantly switched bowls. I put MozoMozo's bowl in Skippy's cage. Hedgehogs have a funny habit. When they find a new smell, they like to lick up whatever is making that smell, swish it around in their mouths, and then spread the smell all over themselves with their long tongu
