Also an expansion pack is due out soon for GalCiv2 Errrm...that's still to be deceided. Oct/Nov or Feb? I think I may eventually get SE V, I will give the demo another go when I get time and deceide for definite then. It's the horrible interface that's the killer with me, having to go through loads of screens to get something done.

Meglobob's tip of the day:- No. 11 To score the most metaverse points u should play with those settings:- Galaxy size - Gigantic. Habitable Planets - Abundant. Number of planets - Abundant. Number of stars - Abundant. Star density - Loose clusters. Anomalies - Abundant. Tech rate - Very fast. Military

I design each ship class to be the most powerful at my current tech level. Then I just put them together into a powerful fleet. Simple and works really great. I don't use military starbases anymore, not built one in over 20 games, I think they r for newbie's, experienced players just don't need them. The drawback that they r fixed positions and cannot move is just to big. They require to many constructors to build as well to be useful.

so basically if I help write a manual for a 4x game I can then no longer review ANY 4x games in my entire life?? Remind me to never help write a manual! Exactly!

I agree with Tom, sword of the stars is inferior to GC2. Pretty graphics but limited gameplay. Any GC2 player would be disappointed in sword of the stars. I considered buying sword of the stars but deceided it was not worth buying full price, may get it when the price drops. Why should Tom not review space strategy games? There r lots of people involved in different projects who give there opinion on related projects.

Meglobob's tip of the day:- No. 10 Starbases to the left, starbases to the right. It is possible to have 4 starbases per sector. 16 starbases can overlap 1 planet. There effects r cumlative. 16 maxed out economy starbases overlapping yr tech, manufacturing capitals, precursor mines, librarys has a extremely powerful effect.

PS - off topic, but how does one get the little icons at the end of their message? U need to enable them. There is a icon to the right of yr metaverse character. Read the stickys under metaverse talk for more exact info.

rav8 Love B5 and yr mod is the best. Already played previous versions of yr mod. It's like playing a different game and I found myself identifying with the races loads more. Excellent work.

Meglobob's tip of the day:- No. 9 Information is power. As soon as u come into contact with another race, put yr espionage slider on that race to the lowest level, usually 1 - 3 bc's at this early stage of the game. This will automatically increase in proportion to yr economy, probably to 200+ bc's. U will eventually a

I like the fact I can play GC2 without the cd in my drive. In fact the only part of my original package I use is the tech tree still, oh yea and the copy protection serial number, so GC 2 does have a form of copy protection. I have been playing computer games for 25 yrs now and no copy protection system as ever put me off playing a game. It's simple really, if the game is good enough, I will play.

Well, anything that allows you to see how far your ship can go quickly would be more then welcome on my computer Yea, just a circler edge would be great, in red perhaps?

"So what happens now?" "We face each other as God intended, sportsmanlike, no tricks, no weapons, skill against skill alone." You mean that you'll put down your harpoon and I'll but down my Doom Ray and we'll try to kill each other like civilized people?" Errrm...no can't see that happening. Better keep those Doom Ray's hot. The

Meglobob's tip of the day:- No. 8 Keep those good times rolling... The economic boom event is very common, I have had it in loads of different games, its especially powerful early in the game, the first 2 years or so. It typically lasts 3 - 6 months before yr economy returns to normal. To get the most out of it u shoul

did they want to actually win the game? This is a problem in all strategy games, the AI always lacks killer instinct, when its got a human player on the ropes, it just does not seem to know how to finish a player off. I suspect alot of the defeats in GC2 and in other games to the computer r down to the player not having the will to be b

Stardock r going to use alot of code from there society game to do multiplayer in GC2. So, given what I have already seen with stardock, u can be sure multiplayer will be original, quality, done on a big scale, with lots of options and when u get use to it, awesome.

Early in the game, when morale is tough, I tend to run it in the yellow, just above the red This is exactly what I do, 45% morale I accept, nothing lower. I prefer money to happy people. I aim to get 80% tax rate 1st, then get each planet, if possible to 100% morale.

However, my fleet of 3 X ships, as mentioned above, cannot fight and win against 1 standard Fighter ship from the other race... I check the fighter ship and its not that strong.. so what is going on? Can't answer unless u give the stats of standard fighter. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quot
