If yr particular race does not start with ion drive then research that then impulse drive. Just get impulse drive ASAP, then design that new faster colony ship. BE THE BEST. JOIN

No tech trading, very slow tech speed, gigantic map with lots of habitable planets (although this last bit probably doesn't matter that much and may be harder at other settings.) To make it harder, start all the races at war with u and stick use algorithms on. If stardock do make a multiplayer, all those settings should be good practice before u
But on top of that, the whole patch thing makes you wonder if a game was rushed out the door - not enough play testing and such - but of course, there's nothing like releasing a game, charging for it, and getting the public to play test it for you. Never played the MoO games so it may be worth it to check into them Master of Orion 2 is well worth getting. Try e-bay. GC2 is however now better than MoO series. Don't under any circumstances whatsoever get MoO3, even if they pay u!

A bug was fixed where you were able to allie with someone who was friendly, instead of close. With this bug now fixed and the difficulty of getting alliances now raised considerably, isn't there an arguement that a alliance win in the metaverse should now score more points?

Playing as neutral, I can get 12 total routes with the Neutral Shipping tech. Many times, I've set up all 12 routes with a friendly race of similar alignment and have failed to see relations move to close. U have to be patient, it takes time. Also they must respect yr military power.
just finished a game with 1.31. As I expected, I only got about half the points I would normally get on a gigantic map after 5 years. Lord Reaper I have looked at yr profile. Meglobob's tip of the day:- No. 2 Each metaverse game has a 'sweet spot', if u finish the game on this spot or as near to it as possible u maximise yr score. Finish earlier or later and yr score will be considerably lower.
The online store supports the major US credit card I believe anyone outside the US with a mastercard, visa or american express card will be able to order/pre-order Dark Avatar just fine. If u have not got a credit card, ask a relative to order it for u and give them the cash or better still get them to buy it u for a pressie...
I am happy to buy direct from stardock and download. So long as its easy to do so and hassle free. I assume it will be just like a patch, except far bigger, with perhaps another serial number? One thing, when I pre-ordered, I didn't get an option to receive a boxed version. is it automatic u get sent one? Or did I miss something?

Meglobob's tip of the day:- To get a racial victory medal, play each of the 10 races once, not including custom race. Of course playing 10 tiny maps will get u the medal the fastest.
No amount of Planets,Tech, Money or Ships would sway any of them. Trade, set up loads of trade routes. Also become a serious military power. Then they will ally with u.

Once u have played GC2 there is no going back to GC1. GC1 was a great game but now seems slow, clumsy and arkward compared to GC2. Get with the times, play GC2.
