Clarification: You will have the option to play the original game or Dark Avatar. We have decided to make it so that they play almost like seperate games. Excellent. Perfect. This is exactly what I wanted.

2) I think a spin control center might actually help for your military score as well as how your enemies see you. Have not confirmed that. I think this as well. I always score more points for military, when I have it, with 10 powerful ships in orbit. Can anyone confirm? Does it score the ships for 3X there attack lvls? Also do
Good advice from CraigHB. If I were u, I would try a medium map, common everything at tough level. U will then find out what level u r comfortable with, map size, no. of planets u can cope with etc...
Anyway... Back to the OP. How about a poll on 1.3? Frogboy said he would have a poll. Most of us have played 1.3 now, so we all have our opinions. Give us our poll.
Well done, never heard of anyone winning like that. Most people believe it's impossible to win in GC2 without a secure economic base. Alot of people would have given up.
Well done diplo's. Our Doomrays r silent for the present. BUT Peace will not exist in the universe forever, our fleets of doomrays will be back, oh yes... Cue evil, meglomanic laughter ...
I can shed some light on this. Evil Stormbringer what level r u playing on? This AI behaviour only exists at low levels of play. That is why no one else is seeing it. Please state yr level of play in future posts, otherwise u will confuse people.
I tried the +70% pop growth trait, and found that it did not seem to be very helpful to me. My population quickly grew to the max on each world and, after quickly reaching the max, the trait offered no lasting or long-term benefit. What about the taxes those citizens were paying? Soldiers for invasion/plantary defense anyone? Score more points
AARS come from dev journals????? WHO KNEW??????? People like me, who read the journals. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Laugh.gif
What bonuses do you typically give to a custom race? Any other choices widely used by players? There r lots of different starting race choices/strategies. It is probably one of the most importan
I have begun playing again as I finally got all the parts to assemble my new system. I will be able to post games a lot more frequently. Lets see if we can hold off the diplo surge. Now that there is finally someone challenging us we may attract more players as a lot of people do not like joining the top team. We will not go down without a fight. Bye for now TBAY. </t
Heck, I'll join if your tak'n people - And I'll do my best to keep you from getting knocked off the top... As far as I know new recruits r always welcome.
Ahh! I stil have not played the Space Empires IV demo. So many games, so little time.
Evil races are not really disliked by good or neutral Yes they r. In the diplomacy screen where u have the +/- to relations. Virtually all neutral/good races will have a - race alignment to evil races. Also I hav
I think we r about to lose our place on top of the metaverse. Storyteller's playing like a madman for the diplo's. Looks like he is going for the first to 1,000,000 points.
I don't see a good reason as to why they're lowering the bonuses like that, meglobob. In which discussion thread do the devs give their rationale for this? Read through the journal for news from the developers and click home, read the news articles. Those give u a good idea of where the developers r heading with the game. Read the player commen
In my opinion, any good game with good support will have the developers making adjustments based on player feedback. It's not about messing around with the game, it's about making sure the game is meeting its original objectives. IF you're playing the game with a tax rate at say 79% easily, then we failed. I do not like adjustments that nerf/dow
Yeah ok, I don't have enough game experience to judge if starting 'evil' is worth Loyalty +100%, Logistic +1% and Miniaturization +25% so i'll take your word for it. Interesting info. Also another not obvious bonus with races from the customization menu is a races starting planet quality. For example the Iconian refuge start with a 12 planet qua
Anyhow, nice to see we're not the only one releasing buggy stuff now and then Glad yr enjoying the game. It's excellent. Sorry to disappoint u Oliver but those r not bugs, they r working exactly as designed. The Yor and Iconian Refuge r balanced, by the fact the Yor r evil and the Iconian's r good. Evil needs stronger bonuses
I have had this a few times, change scrolling to 0. It stops then. Its a well wierd occurance and makes it virtually impossible to move yr units.
Not at the moment. Perhaps u can mod them yr self however. The event is balanced, as the saying goes 'shit happens', the path to supreme overlord of the galaxy is mean't to be hard u know...
Yes, this has been mentioned before. It is an exploit that a player can use to win a war against the AI. It's been around since GC2 came out, in one form or another. I never build the galactic privateer myself so have never seen it.
U will be lucky... The developers r currently trying to 'balance' the game by downgrading economic and approval/morale bonuses. Sorry but I cannot see any of yr ideas seeing the light of day.
It took a long while for Frogboy to accept anybody could win on the highest levels without cheese tactics. (Does he even accept it now?) I agree with random50. Frogboy does not want to acknowledge that u can beat his 9 AI personalitys on suicidal because he cannot do it himself. Frogboy is a good strategy player but there r players who r brilli
Me? Dominions 3 at the mo...
