Best wishes on the baby. How exciting! I have a dear friend that is due to deliver via c-section on the 13th. I have been through chilbirth twice and must say there is nothing more exciting, scary and incredible all wrapped into one. Your lights look beautiful. I have a fear of heights so am dreading putting up the lights but love them so much it will be worth it. I love the holiday season! I am enjoying reading about the things you enjoy hear in the US. It is nice to hea

Styrkar, I just have to say I am totally aghast by your comment that since you are German you probably know more about WWII than Draginol. What the?! Judging from the amount of opinion vs fact in your comment, I highly doubt that surmission. I am a direct descendent of the settlers of my home town but would never say that that makes me know more about the town than anyone else. Some people eat, sleep and breathe WWII. Also, Draginol was asking Europeans the question "Is Israel the biggest t
JeremyG, if someone were to punch you in the nose, would you just stand there and wait for them to stop in order to take the righteous high road? How many punches would it take for you to decide the person will just keep punching? How many terrorist acts do the people of Israel have to endure to be able to call terrorists terrorists. It is always easier to tell someone else to show compassion and forgiveness when it isn't happening to you. I think you are showing a lack of compassion by brus
It is electronic junk mail. Just like those thousands of catalogs, credit card applications and surveys you get in your mailbox.
Too much of anything is bad, of course, but I think a lot of people (not aimed at you KarmaGirl) claim they or their kids "never" watch TV but watch just as much as the rest of us. I think it is funny that it is always actors that say "I don't even own a TV."
How many couples truly put their marriage first? In a world where 50% of marriages end in divorce (and the other 50% in death Quoted from Justice League), it is easier to just make excuses as to why marriage doesn't work rather than face the fact that most people just don't try. I used to think that I was just being selfish or even a bad mother when considering going out with my husband more often. Now I know that it is the best thing we can do for our family. Life zings by at an
I can relate to homesickness and feeling like college is useless. If I had it to do over again, I would. I would just take it a lot less seriously. A degree matters but your GPA doesn't. College is for learning as much as you can both academically and socially. It is a relatively controlled situation for students to explore themselves and the world around them. You are right. You can change your world but you do have to be realistic about the world around you. Most people can't j
Is there any difference between wanting to ban all guns and wanting to just ban assault weapons? Yes!!!! Are you kidding me?! That is like saying "Is there really a difference between aborting a pregnancy at 5 weeks and 6 months?" Ask any farmer that has been raised with guns. They use them for hunting, sometimes to protect livestock, and sometimes to protect their families. When you live out in the country, noone will hear you scream for the police or help. My sister and I were once f
That is a nice picture Hat Lady. Did you take it of yourself? I would be depressed if I lost my hair since it is one of the few parts of my body I don't find disgusting. The hat looks nice though.
I would love to get him into martial arts. I think it would also help build self confidence. He already loves art. He is one of those kids that only wants to try what he thinks he is already good at. He has gotten lots of praise at school for artistic abilities but doesn't feel confident at all physically. My husband thinks the competitive aspect is what is important about getting him into sports. What are your thoughts on that?
Ah, the 80s linger in the form of Jolt. Jolt Cola, all of the sugar and twice the caffiene! Makes me get the shakes just thinking about it.
I agree, online shopping is the way to go. No hassle at the mall. I think my only trip to the mall will be to sit at the coffee shop, sip a coffee and chuckle at the people stressing out about what to buy for Aunt Bertha. Homemade gifts are the best though. I still subscribe to the "it's the thought that counts" thought and homemade gifts are all thought.
I was flicking through our local news channels and heard one of them say they were going to have a story about soccer moms that don't like soccer. Imagine that! My oldest is turning 7 and I have been told I am already behind on getting him into soccer. Does he want to play soccer? No. Do I want to spend the money, force him to go and live in my car? No. I spoke to a mom in the neighborhood that said she spends about $5k a year on soccer for 2 kids...yikes! She was complaining tha
I enjoy gift giving for the people I am very close to but find it frustrating to come up with something for the ones you see a couple of times a year. Thanks for the info. I will check out Gift elan. I couldn't say what my best and worst gifts were. Though ones that stick out on both sides were both homemade. Best:A doll house made by my Mom & Dad when I was little and we had nothing. Worst:A scary doll my Grandma made with a picture of me as the face...nightmare material! Just
Most schools have both PTO (Parent teacher organization) and PTA (Parent teacher association). The PTO, at least here, seems to be the group that actually does things. The PTA tends to just meet and report.
I don't think it is a silly statement at all. Great men and women have fought and died for love of this country. If you don't like this country you shouldn't be here. This is a country founded by and for people trying to make a new life. It isn't for people who want to come here to enjoy all of the benefits that have been established then spit on our values and demand that they be able to do everything the way they did back in "thier" country. Everyone who comes here is entitled to
Karma Girl obviously knew that Cocaine was used by prescription but was saying that it is phenomonally rare. When you talk about Cocaine addiction, be real. It is the recreational user we are talking about. You seem to be talking out of both sides of your mouth here. You say on one hand that you won't make comments but will "impart experience" then you go and call Karma Girl childish. Everyone has an inherent Left or Right stance whether they realize it or not. Very few people in t
I haven't seen the interview with Barbara Walters yet (don't even know when it airs) but saw a bit of her talking about it to Bill O'Reilly and had to laugh. Barbara mentioned that Martha was basically a woman who "did it on her own". I give Martha a lot of credit for being self motivated and creative but not self-made . I know enough about her to know that she was an unhappy homemaker that started a c
