this is something that I am just trying out but seems to work. generally alpha channels are black and white. by using a "mask" you can include shades of gray with the black and white. saving the mask as the alpha channel should give you a level of transparency where the gray areas are, or so it seems.
how about something basic like a spellchecker for the forum posts, please!!!
oh man, where to start. very few people have been able to put together a competent blind their first attempt. there are a few but not many and I sure ain't one of them. there is basic turorial help here as in the links above. and the forums are a great place to get specific answers to specific problems. most of what I learned I learned from looking at other people's skins to see how they accomplished whatever I was wanting to work on. In most cases I was able to learn throuigh trial a
Don't know about anyone else, but I would not want a defrag program to decide which 'old files' to delete.
I making the assumption that a file that I have already deleted is flagged in the directory somehow as such. nor would I want a program that made it's own decision based on someone else's mind set of what to delete. "somewhat inaccessible" I realize that files that have been deleted can be sometimes restored depending on various factors, however n
Quoting gmc2, reply 5 it never has skinned just as Itunes doesn't skin. hmm, not new news. Actually, it skinned fine before I updated the safari beta to the release version, they fixed the skinning issue (for the beta) a few versions back. I would think it's that fix that need to be removed for the release version to work. Safari doesn't use a full custom skin like itunes does.
actually lost a post h
congratulations, happy birthday Emma.
When you have more than a TB of files/data/skins/assorted junk .....it takes a while to sort.... so a week later I'm still tweaking.
I probably should have taken the time to sort but haven't yet. transferred "my documents" to a 400gig external and did a straight transfer over to the new directory. it's kind of ugly when you get right down to it. AND I haven't cleaned up the external drive yet either. just for fyi: CPU 38C.
welcome, nice cat.
when I bought my computer I had asked in the forums about what components were best. I received a lot of good information and am happy with my choices. many suggessted that I build my own and save some money. I'm sure that Jafo's experience is more than typical when building one's own computer. What is your time worth, convert that time into money and add it on top of what you paid for the components to find the real cost of that computer. me, I received my computer on a Friday. I ope

stupid question time: seems that I remember (a long time ago) a defragger that claimed to remove old files and reclaim the disc space, instead of just making those files somewhat inaccessible. Are there any defraggers today that make any such claim???
bumpity, bump, bump.
it never has skinned just as Itunes doesn't skin. hmm, not new news.
running "disc clean-up" may also help. all the files saved in temp have a tendency to slow things down.
I'm thinking of upgrading my graphics card. I have a run-of-the-mill proc, a Core 2 Extreme X6800 (the fastest back in its day), but I hear that ARMA II doesn't like the 8800 very much, so I may upgrade to a GTX295. I have this notion that I must only upgrade to whatever is top of the line, so I can upgrade less in the future.
I think to an extent that is true however I would also think that the rest of the equipment could have
I have the same graphics card and cooler, very nice. did you notice the pot to increase/decrease fan speed. mine is set at about a quarter on. not showing off or anything like that... oh yeah
Why do people complain? What is it they want or hope for when they complain?
Sorry NT, I disagree. people complain for many different reasons, some complain just because they are pissed off about something and need to vent. venting is a healthy process which allows the mind to vocalize the perception. and no offense, but you're no Dr. Phil.
make sure you are saving your majik pink as 24bits not 32.......
This is one that I've never heard before but will reduce the color palate down to see what happens. any idea why? RE-EDIT: check my setting and I'm maxed out at 24bit, no 32bit available (paintshoppro7), did the blur thing and while it seemed to help in sks6 presentation I'm still having the issue over lighter sections of whatever might be below it. thanks for the response, will do some oth
using magic pink on the uis2 frames and alpha on the per pixel frames (and it only shows on lighter backgrounds) background layer is black. oh, and on vista 64bit
around the corners of my frames I am getting some reflection over lighter backgrounds, could this be because of the shadow or some other setting?
we just bought new computers, mine from ibypower and my wife got a HP pavilion laptop. both running vista 64bit and hopefully looking to upgrade to win7???
you have some of the most entertaining experiences with computers than anybody else that I know of, you must be magical.
