neatly done, looking good!
Robbie_Boy that is a great looking startmenu, you appear to be very talented. I start with big stuff first, startmenu, frames, logoff, please wait, etc. and usually do them more that a few times until I'm happy. The more pixels the better.
If it's the same blacklist option that is on Impulse-Driven then that list allows to specify users who cannot reply to any threads that you post. They can read then still but to them your posts would appear locked.
you're not pulling my leg here are ya?? what's the logic??
couldn't agree more and never said otherwise
guys, like I said, it was entertaining and relevent. with all of your help, I wouldn't really complain, thanks again
wow, a highjacked thread, entertaining, glad the info was relevant. So, I think I know where I'm going with this and I have incorporated many of your suggestions, thanks all, it has been much appreciated. greg
please and thank you but remember that I will be purchasing this compluter "ready made". so there are some limitations to components available. so the question here is; why not just go with the original thought and include the 1000W PSU.
do you have the pro version? vstyler use some animation so I assume that he has the pro version. there are more options with the pro version which may not show up within the freebee.
Unless I'm missing something, which is possible, the changes I've suggested bring you down to $1850ish
I'm still looking at the data since that post and yours. I need to take some time to look at the specs and decipher their meanings. but your suggestion have made me think about what I ameventually going to do, as well as other suggestions from others. I mean this is why I posted this here to get this feedback. IWAS (nice re-entrance by the way) companion 2's bu
Falcon Northwest
uhm, cost more, less choice and they don't take amex.
client - can you feel
Price as listed is right around $2400. I already have a set of bose speakers, 24" viewsonic hdmi monitor, saitek keyboard and use a MS wireless mouse. I'll check out falcon northwest and reread your suggestions and do some additional research. I realize that just because something costs more doesn't mean it is better. I don't do any on-line gaming and I'm pretty sure that what I end up with is more than I need but, what the hey.
okay, here is what I thinking of: Case Thermaltake V9 Gaming Tower Case w/420W Power Supply Blue ) <p class="MsoNormal" style
what I'm leaning towards for power supply and graphics card are the 1000 Watt -- Corsair CMPSU-1000HX Power Supply with a geforce 285 graphics card.
It looks like ibuypower has the best configurations for the buck. I'm under 2K but will go back to upgrade some things before I actually buy. again, thanks for all of your suggestions, you all made it easier to wade through the "stuff".
well, I'm taking all of this info down and looking at the specs. sure are a lot of options. I will probably not build but buy ready made (or they build) but at least there are several vendors to choose from. I'll check back and see if there are any more suggestions, thank you all for you help.
this is what i'm building, anyway. i already have the cpu, psu, monitor, hsf, and case (all being used except for the cpu, of course)
I mean, I guess I could be sorely mistaken here however, possibly, even though you're putting it together, will probably cost just a tad more than that that I've been allowed to spend.
oh, off the shelf. major expenditure, something goes bump. I want it covered. looking at alienware's Area-51 X58: standard processor - geforce gtx260 - 6gig ram - 500gig drive - optical dual burner and blueray reader - vista home 64bit - stardard cooling w/dampening - 1000 watt power. lists at 2500. this seems like a respectable machine... (what do I know) anyhow, is there something out there that meets/exceeds these parameters/specifications for less. how could this c
My wife has given me permission to buy a new computer. As I haven't kept up with all of the latest inovations and specifications I am wondering what kind of things I should be looking for and some of the better performing aspects. I know that I want memory, lots of memory but power supplies, graphics cards and other esoteric considerations is a lot of info to sift through. So, where do I start, looking at an upper limit of $3KUS.
I was cringing when I posted this. I kind of knew where this would be taking me but I was hoping. I don't mind purchasing a new computer they are fairly reasonable and with RAM now above 2Gig (I have 1.5 now) and access to more powerful processing (although this one clocks at 3,2) and better graphics capeabilities is enticing. My main stubling block is the reinstalling of programs and new OS, (I have XP, SP2 and regardless have been pretty pleased) not to mention removing content prior t
I have a HP a820n Pavillion that unfortunately only has PCI slots for expansion. I installed a Radeon X1300/X1550 series graphic card with the hopes of improving some gaming qualities however the video for some of these games (Galactic Civ II being one of them) is jerky. I tried Oblivion but the game crashed to many times. anyhow the question, with my limited expansion slot capeabilities (PCI slots only) what is the best graphics card for this system.
does this mean that the upload2 address now works?
the site appears to be accessible during normal business hours, like now. I think a status page providing us with downtime schedules is not asking to much and would save some frustration (for me at least) before I have had my second cup of coffee. With the number of posts regarding problems encountered it seems sort of logical to make this type of information available a day ahead of time. geez.
