Jafo, the sad part is that most times you will end up doing the same clean-up a few months later. Most people seem to just click on whatever little thing pops up in front of them, or fill their PC full of spyware cause they just have to have that weatherbug and all it's little friends sitting in their systray. (Not saying that will be the case with your friend or nephew. It just seems to be a pattern with a lot of people.)

Sure there's some verbal sparring on here, but if you compare WC to just about anyplace else (Dev-art, flexbeta, etc...) this is still about the friendliest place on the net. I've also seen that it's very easy to post a comment that seems funny (if a little sarcastic) to you, but once it's in written form, without the benefit of voice inflection or body language to convey the humor intended, gets misinterpreted. Open Logon Studio, select your Logon and click "Apply" If you aren't seeing your logon in Logon Studio, right-click on your downloaded logon, select "open with" and browse to Logon Studio. (I'm not sure a Logon screen qualifies as an "Extreme" help situation )

Linux makes me dizzy. Maybe you just need to set you monitor's refresh rates. I've been using SuSE 9.2 Pro. So far it's the best Linux I've tried. Very easy to get & install apps and updates with YaST. I haven't tried Fedora Core. I'd like to set up a Linux file server at home.

Finally got it! FOr anyone else who may have the same problem, here is the fix. In the Windoblinds folder is a userpermissions text. Open a command line (Start>run>type cmd) change to your Windowblinds directory (cd C:\program files\stardock\object desktop\windowblinds) and type in the userpermissions text: CACLS.EXE . /E /T /G USERS:F This will run the batch file that give users in limited accounts access to install and cha

Yeah, that didn't get me anywhere. The new account has the same problem as soon as you open it. Windows Classic style. I'll try sending another email to Stardock support. The strange thing is I had this problem the first time in WinXP Home, then later I installed XP Pro and had the exact same problem. (BTW, the 3rd comment in Dorky's thread has been deleted)

Have you tried opening Task Manager to see what's taking all your CPU cycles? Also, what kind of internet connection do you have? If you're using dial-up the weather docklet could be fighting with FF for bandwidth. How does FF perform if you have your docks turned off? (shouldn't need to actually uninstall them) Do you have the same problem using Internet Explorer? What kind of processor are you using, and how much

I too am a slave to the black goodness that is coffee. I must have my 7 cups a day. Dark roast, brewed extra strong, add sugar, kind of a "coffee-syrup" On Saturdays I drink double espresso over a game of chess. SOmetimes go the local coffee shop and get a large dark roast with a triple shot of espresso. If that doesn't wire you nothing will.

Windowblinds in user accounts in Stardock Support General WinCustomize Forums

I've had a problem where Windowblinds won't properly load a 'blind in user accounts other than my own (account it was installed from) The colors will change to match the 'blind, but it will only render in the Windows classic theme. This began with v4.0 I think. I emailed Stardock support at the time, and after exchanging a few mails, the support person sent me a command line script to run, which cleared it right up.
