Now it all fits, yrag has been secretly posting computer problems under alternate nicks so he can solve them! And Jafo posts mis-spelled entries so he has some place to post his little spellcheck gif! (...and of course the "winky" smiley)

You have to put a file called index.htm or index.html in the root directory for the site to load. You hosting provider may require you to use "default.html" instead of "index.html" depending on what type of server set up they are runnning. I would suggest finding a book on dreamweaver if t

Perhaps more frightening is the US Government's request for Google's records of searchs relating to child pornography. Yes, we are all against child pornography, but what would they ask for next? This has been a common misconception regarding the government's request (demand?) for Google's sear

I was attempting to create that boot disk with BartsPE builder. The folder was one that I had created to work from.. How ironic is that? To be honest, I've never gotten around to building my own PE disc. I got one from my Senior network admin. and it'd pulled my bacon out of the fire mre times t

Just to throw something out there after the fact, you should have been able to delete the folder by booting from a live Linux CD or from a Bart's PE CD, rather than going through the extra hassle of a 2nd install. You'd probably have to hit usenet or bit torrent to find the Bart PE CD, or else build one yourself. (I found a PE builder somewhere, but I have no idea where, or I'd post the link.)

I've been partial to ATI, mostly because I've had good experience with them on two of my PCs (though I still haven't found a good set of Linux drivers for my server running an old ATI Rage card.) NT, They should be able to DL the latest drivers from ATI. I bought my Radeon 9600 a couple years ago (about $120 as I recall) and the drivers included on the CD were already way out of date. The first thing I did was head to ATI's site and get the latest Catalyst drivers. Pat

Popular skinner Kol, was asked by Microsoft to take down his Vista Windowblind and Visual Style. MS claims that he was infringing on their copyrights, and he has complied, removing the skins from Wincustomize, Deviantart, and other sites. With six more VIsta-style WB skins showing on Wincustomize https://www.wincustomize.com/Skins.aspx?LibID=1&view=1&sortby=4&sortdir=DESC&p=1&advanced=0&searchtxt=vista how does one skinner get ta

You can also rename the folder ( C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*****.default)(you will have a series of numbers & letters in place of the asterisks ) I just rename the Mozilla folder "Old_Mozilla" Then uninstall Firefox, reboot, reinstall Firefox. Then start copying extensions and themes from the old folder to the new one. Once you see which theme re-creates your problem, just delete

Jafo likes Litestep? Whoda' thought it? Seriously, I agree w/Jafo here. LS probably has the best track record, and you're more likely to find documentation and support for it than newer shells. (Jafo, do you get conflicts with Object Dock under LS?)
