I slightly understand why the guy would be saying this. Now don't flog and tar me as I am a huge fan of WB and I use it everyday. Hear out my thoughts: 1. WB does have some problems with certain programs even on vista....granted using the exceptions generally solves that 2. The vast majority of skins for WB have compatibility problems with programs and the OS. I have found that very few skins work properly with vista media center. Just my thoughts

I really would like a very high quality skin in the rungs of sexy vista. So why not bring back that nastolgic watercolor skin that almost made it into xp but make it compatable for vista. Anyone up for the task?

Ok, I have tried it and for the most part it is ok. But there is still the one part that I can't stand. It won't truly support mulitple monitors. I have two monitors each with a res of 1280*1024 for a full res of 2560*1024. So let's say with the new master dream 'edge of eternity' I would get two of them. One on each screen, rather than it being spanned over the entire desktop as one image. Sure I can use the controls to widen it out, but then it is either centered, cropped

Will WB and Yahoo music ever play nice??? in WindowBlinds WinCustomize Forums

I know that yahoo music has a problem and crashes with wblind.dll. I thought that with version 6 of wb and the newest jukebox of yahoo, maybe just maybe they might play nice with each other. But no, wb still crashes what probably is the best alternative to itunes. Can anyone who codes wb please get it right and get yahoo music to play nice. It can't be that hard to get wblind.dll to properly exlude the music engine from being skinned and not have it crash.

This problem has been happening since WB was released for vista and still happens with the latest version of 6. It crashes media center if the live tv portion is running and you try to unload wb. to reproduce: 1. load media center and tune live tv to any channel 2. using wb, apply the classic skin 3. using wb, unload wb 4. media center will crash with an appcrash dialog box

My 1st feedback is that I choose not to delete all of my skins when uninstalling 5.5 to go up to 6. When I rebooted and it went into the config window it picked right up on the last skin I was using. But that skin was totally busted. I had to unload WB, delete the skin from the computer, reload the skin into WB, and then re-apply it and it was displaying fine.

Is this not actually a limitation of dreamscene? Personally this is a big let down for me. I also use dual monitors and really wish dreamscene/dreamscapes actually supports true dual monitor usage.

In all truth, the guy got what he wanted, both the developer of WB and the ceo of stardock have replied to this thread. In my opinion that is saying something. While we all know that windowblinds doesn't screw with actual system files, I find it nice that they take the time to reply and set things straight. Now I know why I continue to buy and use these programs.

It's been said that the 950 chipset and above have the wddm drivers. Now if my knowledge is correct, WB needs a wddm/wdf driver for vista in order to get the transparency correct. That be said, they probably can fake it, but it will look crappy. WB6 is supposed to bring blurring effects and a lot of new stuff. But it needs wddm to work.

I bought the new sansa connect mp3 player that comes with the yahoo music to go subscription. When I install the yahoo music jukebox, it crashes and the crash dialog box says it is because of wblind.dll. I have use windowblind to exclude yahoomusicengine.exe and every other exe file from being skinned, unloaded, reloaded, and even rebooted, but it still crashes. Well, Since I have been using stardock products for almost 6 years now, things have only gotten better. WB 5 on vista is great, I can't wait for version 6. As for ram/cpu useage, I say 650K/o% isn't much. As for everything else, well there is objectdock, logonvista, dx3.5, iconpackager, and a couple of others. I have been having this long running argument with people lately over what programs use how much ram and work better: vista sidebar, dx, or y! widgets. I can't stand sidebar because in beta testing and then rtm with just the sidebar and 3 widgets I was using around 60-70 mb of ram. Now with y! widgets with the engine running and those same type widgets, I had around 10-12 mb of ram. Now with dx 3 in compatibility mode and just the widgets running I had around 7. So take your pick.<br

Beside with the rebate on the blackjack now and the soon to be release upgrade to WM6, the blackjack blows the iphone out of the water. I will break it into 2 worlds: The real world: I am not afraid to give my opinion of what is good and bad happening at work or at home. I have been told that is not the greatest trait of mine but that is me. On the other hand I have a very good sarcastic humor to me that off sets it. Artistic skinning: I am still somewhat new to it. I don't skin much, I help people snuff out bugs from the skins they are making. But I won't hesitate to offer up my opinion.
