I'm wondering about something. A friend found out, from an overheard conversation I was having with a stranger, that I write a blog. When I explained to him that it was private and for my eyes only he laughed at me and said that it made no sense. Attempting to explain that I meant that blogging gave me the space to write what I want, how I want and get feedback from p

Amen sister! You don't need to hear me ramble about the f**king game. ARGH! what is it with women and men that treat them badly? If only I could answer this one! Probably because deep down we all feel lost and are told to believe that a man is the answer to all our problems. And regardless of how much we fight against it (I HATE this sentiment completely) I think there might be a little girl inside day dreaming abo

Heya! I SO remember this song. Loved it. Someone did a spoof of it in Australia which was really funny as well - I might try to find the lyrics to that to give you a laugh! i'm so sorry if you think that I thought (oh the confusion) that you disapproved of me in anyway. When I was responding to Miki was thinking that you probably wouldn't condone my actions because of the effect it was having on me. Which is different entirely to disapprov

Thanks Mig, One of my mates said that I was being a little hard on myself. I know we all do it. But I guess everyone has higher standards for themselves than others. What is human in my friends I see as a weakness in myself. Thanks for the thought! Suz xxx

Oh honey! I don't think that you don't approve! I also don't think that you would be condoning the behaviour considering it is upsetting me. One of those fine differences! Thank you again for your advice!

Yay for you and your obvious optimism! I love those sighs too. They kind of book mark the end of a tough period and mark the start of a new one. Have a good week! Suz

That's hideous! Hideous I tell you. The only people who would make such a thing must not like food very much at all. I cannot be apathetic about it. It is wrong and must be stopped!!!! ;-(

Muggaz, I'm only new to this whole blogging thing myself, and have found myself disclosing more and more as the articles are churned out. What I find the best is the fact that you can have a journal (which is how I use my blog) which I can get feedback on. From people with no agenda. Sure, I may not portray the events in my life with complete accuracy (who does?) but it is so helpful to vent my spleen in an arena where there is little judgement and

Ahhh... this was our leaving song when I finished school. It was so over played that I began to hate it. Thanks for reminding me that it is actually a very beautiful song!

Hmmm...yes, well *side stepping mine field and sidling away* I don't think that Sal is suggesting that she agrees with what I am doing necessarily, but is cutting me some slack. You do raise a good point about taking it more seriously though. I continually walk the fine line between trying to be flippant, which is of course my reaction when I don't want to look at the actual ramification of situations, and being a little too serious. Or perhap

Oh dear! I'm that transparent! I am just being a whiney cow about the whole thing. 'Oh poor me. Wah, wah, wah. A boy doesn't like me like I want him to but I keep going back and keep getting hurt'. Idiot. I think the best thing about this blogging fandangle is the fact that you can vent your spleen and not be forcing it on anyone. People can take it or leave it, and you are not driving your friends crazy by talking about the same thing over and ove

So for those of you who read my last blog, you will be aware that I have been fighting (and losing) the urge to hang out with a 'friend' of mine. A male friend who says he cannot offer me more than a friendship (with a bit of sex on the side) and who I really quite like. So yesterday I made a pact with myself that I would not see him for a few weeks. I tho

Begrudgingly I have to agree with you. BUT WHY ME??? I was just reading your blog about the religious fanatic. I think we are a little similar in this way too. If something odd is going to happen, you can garauntee that I will end up being involved. The freaks always sit next to me on the bus or talk to me when I'm happily minding my own business. Must be our stunning beauty, hey? </fo

Ahhh, you have asked the most important question. Does he want a relationship? He has just turned 29 and doing the same thing as that all of my male friends did when they turned 30. He is beginning to get scared about it and thinking that he hasn't done enough with his life so he is getting all serious. I don't know how I come across on my blog (especially as I use this wonderful resource as a journal, so I am very open about issues that I would normally down play) but I'm a pretty outgoing, fre

Sounds like you are making proper use of your weekend! I have been such a slack arse and not gone out and acted irresponsibly yet. Tonight that shall all change... I'm being dragged to some cocktail making competition (fun, fun... apparently) which has the redeeming feature of there being many cocktails to imbibe! I don't imagine tomorrow will be a very happy day for me. But it will be worth it. I agree whole heartedly with your comment about women being public access on the dance floor

Thanks guys! My computer keeps crashing so I hope that this time I can get out what I am trying to say! Kingbee - You're metaphore is so perfect. I need to sit back and chill out but instead I'm taking unnecesary risks with myself, racing towards something...for what? You are spot on with the intelligence issue too. I'm a member of Mensa, for goodness sake! I'm supposed to have a very good model of grey matter in this noggin of mine. Pity it se

You're so right. When did people suddenly begin thinking that because they are children they are allowed to do whatever they want? If I had behaved like that as a child my parents would have definitely smacked me, made me apologise and not allowed me to watch TV for a few weeks. I would not have been seen as endearing or cute, rather brattish behaviour which needed to be rectified. Sadly not many people agree with us on this point <img src="../imag

So I was sitting innocently in Trafalgar Square yesterday, eating my lunch, watching people climb the lions and parents wrenching their children away from the fountains. It was a reasonably nice day, a little overcast, but it is London so what do you expect? As I'm sitting there keeping my thoughts company I am accosted by a child. Children in and of themselves a

Thanks Dharma, Turns out I never got the call so I didn't have to do anything. This is probably the best outcome. However, I was also very disappointed as well (nothing like creating your own misery!). I've decided that I need to look at this situation as one does a diet. When dieting you may want that special treat, but you need to look at the long term goal and what you will get out of achieveing it. As such I need to overcome my pathetic ne

Best of luck! I'm shocking too. Whenever I have attempted to keep a cohesive journal (ie in one notebook rather than scrawled on whatever I have at hand when I feel the need to write something) it has felt forced and unnatural. I think it took away the spontaneity of my writing. I think journals are really good for you. In order for you to write something down you have to cognitise the thoughts that have been running around in your brain which mean

Hey, Sorry - I'm a little drunk and haven't read all of your article, but the fact that you used the term 'it's like a brick shithouse landing on your top paddock' leads me to wonder about your origin. Are you a fellow Aussie? Suz P.S. Promise to read the rest when I am less inebriated and my eyes stop swimming!
