Just to add a few comments. The game for me seems to be a lot more stable that 1.1 was (& I had no problems before that release). At the time I would play a few turns & the game would simply crash to desktop. Gave up until 1.2 was released & now I am playing in a huge map. Seems the game runs fine for like an hour or two then all of a sudden the basically crashes & I lose my video drivers. Then I am forced to reboot to get things back to normal & all seems ok. Usually right before this
I am also suffering from this. It is a real annoyance too. Not any sort of game breaker but the character even pops up while signing into the metaverse. Virtually every 3-4 characters I type it happens. Also using a wireless keyboard.

Even though I am basically a beginner (& a first time poster in GalCiv2) I thought I would throw out my thoughts on the game & how I perceive the economy.
