Reply to Are External Scripts faster or more responsive than internal? in DesktopX WinCustomize Forums

I have never tried to use the external scripts, just found them frustrating. I wonder if it is because when you put the script in the object DX has to check each line for errors when you save it, but when its external it might just "load" it not check it. But as I have not tried this i dont know. But thats my guess.

The issue is in how its displaying the days of the week. Most USA Formats are Sunday Mon Tue Wed Thur Fri Sat It seems (based on the screen shot) you have MON Tue Wed Thur Fri Sat Sun and the dx calendar seems to be moving the info 1 day the WRONG way. I will look at this when i get back home next week. Its possible that it can be fixed easily.

I think we need to work with people making themes to get them to work on things like being res-independent (not 100% due to size items) but you could make things "Scale" or "stretch" and still look good. the trick is to not use an object for the background items, like the top/left/right/bottom/center areas and then use the "advanced" settings on the objects to be able to stretch (or tile) these to fit the user's screen size. I think this could be a good tutorial.. anyone interested? E

overlapping items are always a pain to work with. You can never be 100% sure you are "over" the right one. And there are settings for "RECTANGLE" "VISIBLE" for the mouse over area as well that can cause problems. I might be on the look for some ideas for some new tutorials (maybe) so.. i might start a thread for ideas. Email me if you have something good.

Its possible that this could be done, but hell if the pro is only $20 i cant even start to think how many hours this would take me to create. I would just buy the pro. As i dont know anyone that has enough "free" time to do something like this for nothing. Sorry.

I had a major problem uninstalling this from firefox. it didn't change my "right-click" search BACK to google... it took me days before i found an XML file in my ff folder with the community search in it. Not sure why it didnt remove this when it was uninstalled.

I really like how everyone thinks that just because a skin isnt a physical thing that they dont need to ever pay anyone for their work. If i made wooden Ducks as a "hobby" and i stated making them for my friends, and they liked them, then i got better at making them, and they looked better and better, then i took a few of them to a flee market and sold them, would anyone say "hey you cant expect me to pay for that, its just a HOBBY, what gives you the right to ask me to PAY for that!"?

I'm not real fond of the logo, it looks like very "un-stardock". I agree with some here, im not a huge fan of toolbars, have plenty (google) it does what i need it to do, search, and allow me to move to the next search result. I think there could be a cool Icon Tray gadget that could popup to show private messages, or updates to skins, etc. Things that we "should" be getting emails on (i dont get most of the update emails anymore, no idea why). Have it read a special RSS that
