No problem. Thanks, guys. I was just wondering, because it seemed to be a little longer wait than usual.
Are our misc and object dock icons being held captive? Is there a ransom for their release? I'm willing to pay! I think it's been something like 4 days since any were released?
He or SHE? Hehe! HE!! And he questions nothing, as long as I deliver! ...with or without the laptop!
Not during, though, right? I'm a little embarrassed to admit it, Bill, Jafo, but I have on occation thought of someone I forgot to email that day, "during!" Betty, breath in through the nose
I collect guitars. Just can't give 'em up! I've never sold a guitar I've ever owned.
Passion is if you take your laptop to bed. And I do! You know, some people light up a cig after sex? I turn on my computer!
I have the same odd little issue. I'd prefer the old drop down menu, too. I think I've tried every apparent Right Click option menu to try to change it, but can't find one that does the trick.
I wonder how The Phlash feels about the way this thread has developed, and why he/she hasn't returned to clarify the assumptions?
You're welcome, Paul. I really think it's important that you realize that your contributions to this site are well noticed.
Paul, I had noticed, even before I realized you were doing these mini tutorials, that you have a wonderful knack for explaining computer issues thoroughly . You do indeed have a wonderful way with these tutorials. I believe you understand the "newbie" and what their(our!) questions and concerns are, but what impresses me the most is how you explain in detail what it is that they(we) need to know to feel successful at Wincustomize, a
Happy Birthday 67! Or is that 38?
I'm sure Apple has taken into consideration the value of each button, programmed or not, whether on top or the side, of their "Mighty Mouse," before releasing it. I do, however, think it's interesting that after only one click from Mnelsons' girlfriend, that she had difficulty getting it to work again. That's certainly not a piece of hardware I'd want to invest in. But, I can't imagine Apple sitting on it's laurels for too long if there are questions o
Ah, Bill! Try Yosemite - it's heaven on earth!! This young lady came up to my back door at Yosemite Lodge, as I was sipping on some Merlot! I'd pass up the Merlot
Yes, Excalpius, I guess the main ingredient, as in all considerations of technological welfare, is the human ingredient, which is both exhilerating and frightening at the same time. Peace!
Maybe the article is misleading, as you say Paxx, but one of the things that concerns me is the news revelation (at least for me) that even our encrypted bank accounts are vulnerable to hackers. Can we EVER be safe from hackers? Is Microsoft really capable of securing our computers, identities, and livelihoods with an overhauled operating system?
Well, you have all been very helpful!! Meowy: I've tried the gel pads, but I just dont feel comfortable with them. Woodbridge: I hadn't thought of anything as serious as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, so I decided to do a search on it. Apparently computer users and this ailment are starting to multiply! It's something I definately need to consider! tomassen: "...sit awkwardly?" I think one of my issues on this wrist ailment ma
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? Yikes! I hope not!!
Paul! NO computer for 2 or 3 days? Surely you jest! You know, I'm kind of embarrassed to admit it, but it really is bothering me. I'm seriously contemplating using my left hand. I'm left handed so it shouldn't be too much of a problem, although I do use my righ
Is there a cure? Or a remedy? Will it heal on it's own? Or should I start packing it with ice and taking Advil? Will it eventually cause me to become permanently disabled? What kind of doctor should I call? PCP? Orthopedic? Psychiatric? Have there been any studies (acurate or inacurate) on the long term complications of mouse wrist? Anyone else suffer from this malady?
Thanks, Bichur, Apocalypse, Jafo, Pic. I appreciate it. I don't regret posting the article, but I will take responsibility for not making any more of a comment on the initial post. I posted it to get commentary, more thoughts and opinions. Honestly, I didn't consider the source. But whether it is a blog or a national news item, I still believe the written word should be considered debatable. Any written word. Blog or no. Who ar
I've never been called a troll before. I had to go look up the meaning. I found several but this one seems to sum up the general concensus: An Internet "troll" is a person who delights in sowing discord on the Internet. He (and it is usually he) tries to start arguments and upset people. Trolls see Internet communications services as convenient venues for their bizarre game. For some reason, they don't "get" that they are hurti
Who're you calling a troll? I didn't post that arbitrarily. I read the article and felt it was interesting enough to post for commentary.
And so it begins!! "Security experts are warning of a possible scripting virus 'outbreak' when the OS formerly known as Longhorn finally ships." Link
The price is what will keep me from running right out and bying one. But I will get one eventually. I'm a middle finger scroller. I'm most curious as to whether the scroll ball on the Mighty Mouse will be as easy to use as a unidirectional wheel. If the scroll ball is anything like what is put out on laptops, I won't be impressed. I'll definately take a trip to the Apple store to try one out before I buy.
