I've always had pc's but just a coupole of months ago bought a bottom of the line mini mac. I've a lot of upgrading to do eventually, but for now, I just wanted to try it out. Mostly curiousity. Heck, I wouldn't have joined wincustomize if I didn't have a curiosity! My boss has a mac, my best friend has a mac, I just felt a need to be a part of their computer world. I will continue to read your articles, zoomba, with a keen interest. <img src

It sounds more like an addiction. Have you ever thought of a 12 step program? I, too, change my desktop every couple of days, so if you find any kind of program like that, let me know!! <img src="http://images3.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Cool.gif" border=0 ALIGN="ab

I just got my laptop back today. DHL picked it up (in Massachusettes)at 7:38pm on Monday night, delivered it to Texas by 4:30am the next (Tuesday)morning, had it back in their hands after Dell fixed it by 5:30am and it arrived today at 10am.They replaced the LCD screen, the cover, LCD front Bezel, and updated the system bios. They did that in an hour. It doesn't get much better than that, but again, I paid for it in advance. <img src="http://

That is a good story, Mr. Debeli. I'm glad you had great succss with Dell. I have too (I have an Inspiron 8600 as well!), but I think only because I paid extra for that service up front. And the reason I mentioned the two dvd drives is not so much because I had to fix them myself, but because within the first year of owning this laptop, I've had multiple problems with it. If the laptop was built with the proper quality, perhaps I wouldn't have needed s

I have a Dell laptop. I've had it a little over a year. The best thing I did was to pay extra for a Complete Care Package. It was an extra 300, very expensive as far as I'm concerned. I've had my usb connectors loosened to the point they were not working, and they picked up the laptop, on a Tuesday and had it back to me with a new motherboard by Thursday. The laptop was just picked up yesterday because the bottom fourth of the screen it white, I mean

Maybe I should rephrase my question. Let's say I take a digital snapshot of my Martin guitar, this one: http://donnag.wincustomize.com/photos.aspx?a=1&p=8&SID=4571&UID=790191 and I want to take the jpeg image and make an icon from it. What steps can I take to make sure I create an icon with the highest image level I can? I don't want a generic guita

Some of the first icons I made were of a few different guitars that came from bitmap and jpeg type graphics that I tried to make as clean as possible. I failed miserably!! I literally edited each pixel and feathered and manipulated them as much as I could only to come up with a result that was not very pleasing.. I'd really like to make some improvements on them. Is there a way to change them from bitmap to vector type graphics? I used Pain

I decided I just wanted a change for now. And I still haven't come up with a way to make the guitars look any better. I'm not sure what to do. I'd like to be able to change them into a vector type graphic so they look cleaner, but I don't know how to do that. Any suggestions? Hope you had a great day, Bill. Donna

The last couple of days have been the worst I've experienced here at Wincustomize. Just a constant barrage of error messages just trying to enter the sites. I thought with the new server everything was supposed to get better?

I'm embarrassed. I'm not at any level other than a human level, Zero. I certainly need to be reminded occationally to tone down my remarks about things. I guess I just thought that this thread needed a little balance and I thought I'd put my two cents in and provide it. I agree that we may never know the reason for the initial verbal attack. All we can really do is to try to react the best way we know how or are capable of at the time.<

"Wiser, mature, and level headed?" LOL! I'm just old!! Very old! Believe me, I've done my share of getting angry and name calling, too. I've done so usually as an instinctual/defensive act, which most people do. And I agree that it certainly does make you feel better at the time to "let it out," but in the long run, it really only causes more hard feelings and less understanding. You'll have to forgive me. I'm a preschool teacher and

I have no doubt that what he did and said was idiotic. And there's even the huge posibility that he's not sharpest knife in the drawer, but again, you do reinforce what you're trying to tell him he shouldn't do. Nasty words beget more nasty words, no matter the severity or depth of insult. It's like spanking a child for hitting. You create a cycle of aggressiveness. Where does it end? When the biggest and smartest outhit, or outwit the other?

Journeyman Woodbridge, I got the cheapy macmini just a couple of weeks ago, too. What a great way and price to get acquainted with macs! I'm going to be upgrading to 512 and a wireless card as soon as I can. I was surprised at how easy it was to network the mac to the xp machines!
