Thanks. D Lantec. That's just what I wanted to know. At present I am working on an odd sized canvas just putting together ideas, but wish to start on a serious canvas soon. I am making this wall on my laptop which is a 1280x800 pixels, but I want to export it with a few different sizes, mostly bigger. I just want to make sure I have the best quality when it's exported at every size. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Smile.gif" bor
dhrmagrl, just my 2 cents...I'd go with the Emachine because of what I've read lately about them. I'm glad you know about Best Buy!! I love my LCD, but my son says they really aren't as solid as the bigger monitors, They have more chance of breaking down pixels than the bigger ones. Regardless that he says that, we've all got LCD's in our house. That's 3!
I'm working on my first wallpaper, well, that I really care about. I'm a little confused about what size to start with while making the wall and what size to export it as. Shoud I start with a smaller size to build and then export as 1024 and 1280, or start with bigger sizes and export down? I hope this question makes sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmidd
Yup, W. Paxx is right about that service! It really is quite impressive. I hate to confuse you even more, but I've only had bad luck with Best Buy. I will never buy from them again. They are truely the epitomy of a bait and switch company. If you were to bring a brand new computer back to them a week after you bought it and they had to send it to their main repair company, they would replace your new parts with refurbished ones. If you go to Best Buy,
E-Machines-I bought one for my son in high school and it did the trick for him. Just emailing and small games. The only problem with it were the things HE did to it! Heh! I read recently that e-machines are rivaling Dell in the service repair area. They have decided to work mostly on the quality of their computers because they found it saves them money not to have to repair them all the time!! It's just something I read recently. Can't confirm
And...if you do decide to build yourself, my best advise would be to buy the parts at a local computer parts store and not online. If you've got to return something, and in this family we've returned mostly motherboards and processors, it is a royal pain in the butt to have to ship them back. Driving to a store, if you have one local, is a heck of a lot easier than standing in line at the post office. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Smil
Building one yourself assures you that you will get retail boxed parts for your computer. Buying from any of those other companies does not. I know that Dell will use refurbished parts in their NEW systems. I have a home made desktop and a Dell laptop. The desktop wins hands down in every aspect. The only problem is, if you build it yourself you need to know how to repair it yourself or it costs outlandishly to get it fixed, or at least to pinpoint wh
WELP! I just applied the "green" version to my desktop, SD. That black wall is pretty good for someone who loves gray!
Yeah, Bill, that is one of my favorite visual sites! Heh! Gotta TRY to stay away from the actual calories though! Speaking of Baskin Robins, in the early 80's they had a Lemon Cheesecake ice cream that was to die for!! I used to go once a week to indulge in that almost sinful confection! But alas, they stopped making it. Perhaps I was the only one buying it? It's one I've never forgotten and wish they would consider bringing back. Yummm!
Fabulous!! It's going to take me months maybe years to really feel comfortable with all of these tools, but at least these great video's are available as guides.
AH!!! Bill, you should be horse whipped for starting this one! http://www.haagen-dazs.com/ Haagen-Dazs Butter Pecan with chocolate sprinkles in a waffle cone. Or Haagen-Dazs strawberry cheesecake, or...
If we choose to update a skin, the object is taken off the board until the new version is accepted. Would it be possible to set up the update option so that our original skins remain on the site until the new version is accepted? Therefore, there would be no lag time between the old version and the new version on the site. Thanks.
Thanks joeknowledge. I wasn't sure if anyone else was experiencing this.
Still not seeing the icons I've created. Some show, some don't. I have refreshed the library and can find the icons if I do a search, but still don't see them in the general library. Is anyone else having this problem?
I've had a subscription to Wincustomize Browser for a few months, and I've noticed that the icons I've made don't always show up there. Some do, but some don't. Are there any settings I'm supposed to be using to make my own icons show? Or is it like in your personal website where you can set the quality of skins to what you want to see? Am I missing something? <
I feel defeated by the snow. The snow has won.
I've tried the trial IllustratorCS and I couldn't find an equivilent to the interactive transparancy tool either. And that particular tool is one of the main reasons I will probably purchase the CorelDRAW software at the end of my trial.
When I upload a jpeg preview, the main preview is not as clear as the preview when you click to enlarge it. As a matter of fact, it looks downright horrible! WHY? How can I provide the best preview? I have uploaded an updated icon and exported the jpeg file which was made in Corel Draw. I downloaded the icon's zip file to make sure at least the icon downloads with the quality I exported it with. And it does. Now it's just a matter of getting t
I started with Paintshop Pro, but have recently downloaded the trial version of Corel Draw because of Mormegil's tutorials. I'm pretty sure I'm going to purchase it. It just seems to have more options with making vector objects than PSP does. I'm also looking at Vue 4.
A tutorial index? Okay, I think I'm falling madly in love with you!
I'd go for the clam chowder as well, but... ... the hubby and sons requested chili! Mmmm! It's on the stove and as hot and spicy as the pregame trash talk all week.
How do you spend superbowl sunday? Are you a football nut who follows the teams, their players, the stats, involve yourself in fantacy football, own 5 versions of Madden football f
Just 2 more sense here... One thing that I would like to see changed is the wording to the 5 stars. For the middle star, it is worded as "it's ok." Not a very appealing description of either a 5 or 6 point critique. Instead of: 1. I hate it 2. I don't like it 3. It's ok 4. I like it 5. I love it I'd personally prefer to see: 1. needs work 2. getting better 3. good 4. very good 5. excel
