Oh the wonderful world of base housing - been there, done that and hope I never have to go back. There is someone like this in every housing complex. The best thing about base housing is that you don't own your home at some point you move or they move and life goes on. It would be worse if you had to live by this woman for years and years. I'm sure the truth will come out but somehow when someone makes an accusation against you it just makes you fe

I like reality TV. Not all but I love Amazing Race - it's one of my favorite shows but I have to wait until summer to watch AR5. I'm not tired of it yet. But what is interesting about it is seeing the people in different locations and cultures and also to see the personalities and competitive human nature come out. I liked all the PBS reality shows - 1900 house, frontier house etc. It makes me realize how soft we are now and how lucky. Really not

I am with you. I only caught this show once but I really enjoyed it. The networks just do not give shows enough of a chance to find an audience. Plus they play musical chairs with the schedule so its hard to actually find a show again after you see it once. Very aggravating. My favorite shows now are Alias, Angel and Amazing Race (when it comes back on this summer).

I know exactly what you are saying Dharma - or I think I do. It is completely different to say we lost a soldier than to say that we lost someone that we know - someone who has a name and a face. It makes it so much more personal.

Pretentious jerks are pretentious jerks whether its in real life or on joeuser. Don't let the bastards get you down or "PJ's" which is what I will now call them. I don't think I used enough big words to flex my all powerful brain muscles. Give me some time to research and use my thesaurous so I can make my point more eloquently.

Dylarama - this was too funny!!!! ROTFL "Einstein didn't know shit. He was a physicist and, primarily, a mathemetician. Your using his statement is equivalent to me saying that a basketball should be shot underhanded, at all times, because Greg Lougainis says so. "

I agree that the June 30th date seems impossible at the moment. Time will tell. I am afraid that it will take more troops in Iraq and a greater loss of soldiers lives before their is any kind of stable government in Iraq. I do not think Bush is benefitting at all from a chaotic Iraq. I do not think they will ever find WPM. It seems to me that people waved flags here for about two weeks after the initial attack on Iraq and then it became old news.

Oh and Tom Skerritt. I have always liked him though I don't think he is really handsome. Now the question are there U-S women? Do men see a woman who is not a traditional beauty and can see something attractive in her in spite of that?

I have to add to the list Patrick Stewart (Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek the Next Generation) and Iaon Gruffud (Horation Hornblower on A&E and now on Century City) to this list but I want a better term because ugly just seems mean - just not traditionally handsome but still very attractive.

I am Catholic and they believe their are different levels of sin. I know sin is sin and it is all bad but someone who tortures, molests and murders a child is not the same as me telling a lie. There is no way that that is as bad. I think their are levels. The Catholic church has mortal sins - you will go to hell if you commit these sins and don't confess/repent ex. murder etc. and venal sins which are little sins such as telling a lie, if you have

My family never said I love you when I was a kid. We didn't hug. I know we cared about each other but we were not what I would call a "close" family. I tell my husband and boys that I love them. My husband the most. My boys, it seems like its a little less the older they get. That makes me sad. I started telling my grandma I love her when we would hang up the phone and now she does it with my other relatives and it makes me happy because I feel

I went to Catholic school too and I remember every now and then we would have a "jeans" day but I wouldn't wear jeans because they weren't brand name. My mom thought I was ridiculous and that's just how it was. I didn't get the cool clothes for pouting. I think school is a hard place for kids to want to stand out and be different. We went to the Arlington Cemetary and their were several classes there on field trips - you would have thought they ha

I used to be very much a proponent of gun control. I changed my mind on this issue after reading the book "Snow Falling on Cedars". This book is set against a back drop of the Japanese interment during WWII. The first thing they did before they put them in the camps was to take away their weapons. A weaponless people are a powerless people. I do believe the gun owners should be responsible. It makes me so sad when I read about a kid shooting anot

Poi, what a horrible situation you were put through. Were you able to land on your feet? My husband is in the military and we are going through a "situation" right now. I am hoping everything will blow over but they certainly don't tell you anything. It is just being caught up in a huge bureaucracy. You should have called JAG - he could've helped you - lol! just my lame attempt at humor.

Sounds like fun. I can just see you dancing with the little stars in your eyes and spotlight on you just like in the movies - lol! You definately should work out some kind of system with your roomates but it doesn't sound like they want to cooperate with you too much. Do they have boyfriends? I wish I had gotten to go to college. I missed that whole experience.

I agree with you 100%. As a base daycare provider we were not allowed to give them coloring books or coloring sheets because it does stifle their creativity. As we say they should learn to color outside of the lines. What age did you put your son in school? I am trying to decide whether to put Brody in Pre-K or let him stay home with me until Kindergarten next year. He says he wants to go to school but I'm sure its just that he wants to be like hi

My opinion always has been that you can't complain unless you vote. So I have always voted. I have a harder time with the small local elections because I really don't know enough about those candidates to make an educated vote. I usually just vote my party if I don't know anything about them. For the big elections, the presidential, senate, governor, congress - I feel that I am making a more knowledgable vote. I read the newspaper every day. I tr

"Oh no you're not from Texas - Texas wants you anyway." Lyle Lovett I moved to Texas about a year and a half ago. I didn't like it when I first got here but now I love it. My husband is from Texas and so was my dad. I grew up in Ohio and there definately isn't the same level of state pride there that there is here.

I think salaries should be based on how long it takes you to train to do a job. I mean if you can learn to run the cash register at WalMart in a few hours you will obviously make lots less than a surgeon who has studied for years to learn his job. I think becoming a teacher is a calling. I don't think you could find anyone who is teaching who chose it as a career for the money and career potential growth. It does seem to me to be very lim

I have a Sheltie named Bingo and I love him. We had a Beagle when I was little that mysteriously ran away when we moved - now I know better. We always had cats when I was a kid. I don't like them. I think the are stuck up. Bingo loves me. Cats just tolerate you. But he is definately not low maintenance but he is a good dog. He doesn't chew things up. Or have accidents in the house etc. I think for a low maintenance pet, you can't beat a pet r

I personally am jealous. I had a justice of peace wedding and wish I had the whole production - maybe that's just because I didn't have to go through that - lol! Mainly I just want the pictures. I have no pictures of my wedding day. I would have liked to having something a little more sentimental but we're still married 10 years later. My sister and best friend who had the big fancy weddings are divorced. Now I am just planning an anniversary tri

I agree with you on this. What really angers me is when I see the kids dressed from Goodwill and mom looking like she just had a makeover. I remember just being so irritated - there was a lady on the news - she had just gotten a free gift for her child from a charity - but was saying how great it was because otherwise her children wouldn't have gotten Christmas - but she had long, acrylic nails with the fancy designs (costs extra $$$), a fancy brand
