I can't see how it would it be any more taxing on the proccessor than the present system. As for the complexity, the only thing that is complicated really is the revolt system and the stuff about the different races behavior and such and the different types of revolts. I think that probably the morale of the different populations should be treated and shown separately and slaves shouldn't have a morale and then the total medium determined to create the ultimate morale of the planet

According to the OP's ideas, you could make it so that when a civ is being invaded, and losing worlds to another civ, they get massive "resistance" political moral bonuses, making the weak stronger in a sense. Only if that civ is weaker than the other civ, if you lose worlds to a civ that was initially weaker than you (at the beginning of the war) then you lose lots of morale due to to the fact it emphasises exactly how much the goverment has failed. The

It doesn't need to be more complex, because the game has enough complexity and decision making already. All this would do is push the game even further away from any kind of conquest victory and more towards influence victory (flipping worlds doesn't take man-power, so no morale problems). I don't think you picked up some of the small details here. You see the weaker you are in relation to an opponant in militerily, then the more forgiving the population are tow

Nah IMO, i just dont think the current tech AI wise is enough to handle something like that... not without cheating... overly complicated. I don't quite understand what you mean unblinded, what massively advanced AI are we talking about here? It's all number crunching really. You would have a civ wide morale penalty or bonus according to your actions, you would see what is causing unhappyness to your population. You could also go on the man on the street th

One of the things I was most dissapointed with about Galciv II is the fact they have not upgraded the political system at all since Galciv I. It's still the same pointless system of a single starting out party that gives you bonuses and a set of parties who simply give you penalties to lose power to. I suggest that the following improvement be made to the system.............. 1. An end to the above mentioned system. Instead if "you" are elected out of of power your civilizatio

Slaves don't fight in planetery invasions at all, any soldiering bonus held by slaves is not used, unless they should rebel against you. As for social production, the slaves social production is used according to the percentage of that race on the planet according to the above mentioned formula. Casualties are evenly distributed among all races that fight in a plantatery invasion.

Wouldn't it be neat if you had leaders with individual abilities and traits. Traits are nuetral, they aren't necceserily bad or good, just they affect the game in some way. Their goodness or badness depends on the strategy you are intending to follow. Abilities come in two kinds, positive abilities and negative ones and come in three levels of proficiancy. You have a certain number of penalty points to give your leader and a certain number of bonus points. You are able

These ideas will make each planet unique and over time as planets get conquered and reconquered even evolve a little to end game. The new civilization idea is brilliant, GalCiv had something similar to that but it was more like a digest version, nothing as detailed as your ideas. It wouldnt even be to hard to manage populations. Whenever you launch anything that can carry people (transports, colony ships) a little bar will pop up before confirmation showing you which races are on the

I find you can just make one fighter with a laser, walk up to the planet and engage them the whole game with blowing up unarmed defender after another, while they develop plasma weapons and do they build anything with these nifty tech, no? The AI is less intelligent than a housefly. It shows absolutely no ability to learn anything whatsoever. The Galciv AI builds unarmed ships, I destroy them and what does it do? Builds more unarmed ships. It should notice (

I can't seem to make a character, it just pops up with the "processing data" window and stays there for what appears to be forever. What exactly is wrong and if nothing is wrong exactly how long is it supposed to take?

The courage modifier is modified by: 1)The courage racial pick 2)Morale (or lack of) 3)Cultural influence- a world already falling to your culture will fight back less. 4)Numerical Superiority- if one side's victory is inevitable to overwhelming force. 5)Modiifers from Invasion Tactics 6)Modifiers to due differences in Ethical Alignment. A Good civilization will fight another Good civilization less, and everyone w

Nope, I won tech victory that round. AI apparently can research tech victory, but not win. I believe this is true for all the victory paths, i.e., they only apply to the human player. That sucks. Aliens should be able to win technology victories!

Very good ideas indeed, I'm not sure about evil slaves not joining their own (evil) race again - it's not like being freed from slavery immediately makes you good and totally opposed to slavery, eg. if one was a Drengin, that was grown up around slaves and accepting slavery. But all in all, good ideas to work on. Being rather hungover I can't maintain sufficient coherency to contribute too much at this point No bieng a slave does no

In a future expansion pack, I would like to see the introduction of a system by which you can have alien populations on conquered world that differ from the citizens of the rest of your Empire and have different abilities aswell as an extra potential for revolt. The mechanics of planetery invasion. Planetery invasion happens as it does at the moment, the attackers and the defenders attack with the full numbers and take casualti

I want a system where you can have alien populations on world you conquered and the possibility of them rebelling and even restoring dead civilization in an expansion pack. A revamp of the political systems available would be good aswell and a revamped political system for elections and parties and leaders aswell.

When you invade a world, you fight as present, all your troops fight all their population as present. But there is a victory bar which is adjusted by the success or failiure of the two sides in battle, Neither attackers or defenders fight to the death. Both sides have a courage bar which is set by the following factors 1. The courage rating of the civilization 2. The morale rating of the planet for the defender. 3. The

I want to see a system by which you have alien populations of the worlds you conquer with penalties that can become assimilated aliens (but never humans), with a potential to revert to bieng unassimilated aliens if they get too miserable. Evil civilizations should have the possibility to enslave or use extermination to wipe out every single last alien on the planet. And even dead civilizations (minor and major) should be able t

And there's a problem with the AI, as it keep researching and building transports and constructors, even when it's getting shot to bits by a foe that has researched weapons, rather than dropping everything, researching weapons in a hurry and building attack ships.
