Welcome to JoeUser! Hopefully putting some of your feelings and such down in words like this will help you out, and give you an opportunity to sort things out.
Evangelist Billy Graham lists seven reasons why having family devotions is important: 1) It unifies the home life and puts faith in the place of friction. 2) It brings to the family group a sense of God's presence. 3) It shows the children that God is relevant to everyday living and not just a Being to be worshiped at church. 4) It gives members of the family an opportunity for self-examination and confession of sin. 5) It strengthens the members of the
i always peek at these, and it's about time i admitted it ! . Glad to hear it, mig!
True...been there, done that, and it wasn't a good time in my life. But I did manage to use it to get in touch with myself a little more.
Hmmmmmmmmm....interesting perspective, LW.
You're quite welcome, Mig...it's a lesson I've had to relearn on numerous occasions!!
That it is, WF...I love discovering little known poets, and giving them a wider audience!
Profound, isn't it?
I used to write a lot of haiku, but I've gotten out of the habit. Maybe I'll have to take it up again.
For sure....as a teacher, I found it to be true on numerous occasions.
I agree, these are some pretty good poems. Nice haiku, btw.
Nice tip. But if we overdo it, wont it sound sham, hollow and artificial. I mean there has to be a limit to everything, even saying, "i love you" ,right ? I don't feel that way at all...I think the more you say it/hear it, the more meaningful it is...but that's just me. <img src="../images/smiles/smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN
Very impressive writing, Gid...scary, but impressive.
A Change of Plans by Brittany A game I told you I would not play Is being played and played again The love I told you I would not give Is being given, many times over The nights I told you I just couldn't give up Are nights I only yearn To spend with you The life I promised not to let go of Is the life I've set free To have a life with you The joy and happiness I told myself I could not have

Numbers 23 19 God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? 20 I have received a command to bless; he has blessed, and I cannot change it. 21 "No misfortune is seen in Jacob, no misery observed in Israel. I Miss You by Babie Jean Fuentes Craving to see your smile again makes me wish to turn back the time from which I can get a glance at you and thinking that someday you'll really be mine. How will I ever forget you, the man who opened my heart to love, who makes me inspired each day and who gave me the hope and strength not to be afraid to fall for someone. And without you knowing, i

Genesis 29 Jacob's Children 31 When the LORD saw that Leah was not loved, he opened her womb, but Rachel was barren. 32 Leah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Reuben, [ 1 ] for she said, "It is because the LORD has seen my misery. Surely my husband will love me now
And You know what, I don't know a countrie that enables You to live in a 'moral' way. I'm not slamming US, but if You know that part of Your taxes pays to produce weapons of mass destruction (US is THE greatest military force on the planet) - I cannot say that's moral. And that's on the people who decide how to spend that money, not on the peo
You Are Honduras by Suzie With a bit of your essence, I traveled your footsteps towards me like a promise that somehow transcended into today. With your eyes I see your country, in all its beauty and splendor. With its grace I am captivated. In you, I see and feel Honduras. With one memory you shared ... I see you lost in the darkness, on horseback in the mountains, only the stars for company. God kept you saf

Genesis 24 42 "When I came to the spring today, I said, 'O LORD , God of my master Abraham, if you will, please grant success to the journey on which I have come. 43 See, I am standing beside this spring; if a maiden comes out to draw water and I say to her, "Please let me drink a little water from your jar," 44 and if she says to me, "Drink, and I'll draw water for your camels too," let her be the one the LORD has chosen for my master's son.' <SUP
any kind of success in life (a good career or even a workplace, building or buying a house, even keeping Your car and getting medical assistance) forces You to commit immoral acts. Then I think I'd have to be finding somewhere else to live....I've never heard of such a place.
