If they'd OPEN their eyes... they'd see that they arn't alone in the metaverse .. well maybe if they'd develope long range scanners they's see us..
Hmmm...til those Crazy Canucks showed up, it took long range sensors to detect any other empires either in front or in back of us! ;)
Seriously though, I am happy to see new players join any of the empires. I don't want to see the empire aspect of the Meta fade away
I totally agree! Its sad to see how many top 25 empires are completely inactive. :(
Last time I checked altmeta, the Guardians were the *most active empire in the top 25. *Based on # of games and # of active players
Cool! That means you guys don't need any more members! ;) :D LOL [Message Edited]
Pirates, Trekkers, Guardians? I thought you guys were all retired! ;) LOL :p :)
Hey, how come *I* haven't been actively recruited by any of the empires yet?
Hmmm...The empires of the metaverse have voluntarily agreed to keep recruiting to a minimum because at one point the Galactic Forum was awash in recruiting wars. In fact the "Empire Forum" was created so empire related topics wouldn't knock the help-wanted topics off the first page. As you can see, its prettty slow everywhere now with four forums and a handful of posters. If you are real
The both of you have interesting ideas. I just don't want to change the rules midstream for the current metaverse. These should be seriously considered for the GCII metaverse however.

I've found something strange about the "Huge Primal" custom map. The nine sytems found in the sectors (9,9-11,9;9,10-11,10;9,11-11,11) have no planets which doesn't fit the symmetry of the rest of the map. Also, apparently the lack of planets at system "Westerfield" (sector 9,9) has caused the Drath homeworld to move to a sector adjacent to the Torian homeworld. Since the map shown, when selecting custom maps, shows the Drath at 9,9, I'm assuming this map needs to be adjusted. [Message Edit
I read somewhere that you need to add a folder called "exports" to Galleans Return and to the Elves folders to fix this.
The version number for GalCiv is found in game in the options screen at the very top of the page. And the 1.20 patch is found on the galciv.com page under the button "downloads" down the left side of the page. Seems pretty simple to me. ;)
Hmmm...IMHO, daily recalculations seem a bit extreme. If I had a vote, it would be for "once a week". That way the metaverse would have some stability but still have a reasonable amount of decay.
The one thing that I've discovered is that there is no one perfect spending slider configuration. Too much depends on whether you need to go 100% social to get a trade good/wonder, or 70% tech to get a specific tech that will help your short term plans, or 60% military spending to get that one military unit that at that specific time and place will do maximum damage to your opponent. Flexibility is the key to success in the long run. Basicly, if you have doubts as to what to do, set the sliders
The AP scenario "Attrition" plays fine but it keeps creating anomalous scores of zero in the submission screen. I played maso/with mods, maso/without mods, and normal/without mods with same scoring problem. So far I've completed 6 other scenarios (see my record)and they have all submitted with appropriate metaverse scores. So it would seem that the problem lies with the "Attrition" scenario.
Someone told me in a thread that you could adjust propagada slider to improve morale or something like that. I never did find such a slider in the game.
Double click on the "star system" icon on the main map. This brings up individual planet screen. Click on "details" button. This brings up second individual planet screen. The "propaganda" slider for the planet is here. [Message Edited]
If you are adventurous, you can edit .ship files with a .txt editor to manually add your ship graphics. GalCivWriter doesn't seem to pick up custom graphics. Warning: always keep a clean copy of folders containing files you edit.
I researched a new tech that lets me build my own planet, but can't seem to figure out how to do it
The reason you can't figure out how to build a planet is because it can't be done. If you read the description for Artificial Planets it states: "Creating a huge space ship is one thing, being able to create a living, organic planet is another. We can now, theoretically, build our own planets. The only thing preventing us from populating the galaxy with these
A ship is in orbit if it is built or if it enters the same square as the star system. To leave orbit either double click on mini-icon or click launch button. The ship will then reenter main map in an adjacent square to star system (usually square down from star sytem unless occupied by enemy ship). If no adjacent squares are unoccupied by enemy ships, the planet is effectively blockaded. You will not be able to launch any ships.
Ships in orbit receive a bonus to their ability to retaliate an attack from space. For example: A battle hammer in space that has AT of 15 and DE of 11 would have an AT of 25 and DE of 11 in orbit. Therefore if the battle hammer survives the first shot from the aggressor, it will have enhanced ability to retaliate during the battle. Also ships in orbit will contribute more to your military rating than ships in normal space.
Actually Artemis40000 is correct. You need 90 to research "TheBetterWay" which allows you to build the Trade Center. Some of the other "good" techs require lesser morality numbers. (60-90) The same holds true for the "evil" techs. They each have unique numerical threshold (40-10).

If the text in the deal you propose appears yellow, the AI will not accept it, and if the text appears in green, the AI will accept it. If all else fails, you can input the serial number from CD into registration area of Stardock Central and then download and install the game using Stardock Central. To get the latest updates, you'll have to register anyway. This feature is one of the greatest aspects of Stardock games because you never have to worry about losing the game if you buy a bad CD or lose the CD. I hope this helps. :)
Once you've tried Stardock, you can't go back!! ;) LOL
