1. Yes. Most of the victory conditions are non-military. Some of the previews may cover this so I won't say anything until after the previews hit.
The gamespot preview http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/elementalwarofmagic/news.html?sid=6200601 explains some victory conditions:
There are several ways to achieve victory, such as simply defeating all your enem

About preordering, cancelling and beta, this thread http://forums.demigodthegame.com/326561 can be enlighting. There is an official statement in reply 6 in that thread:
If you simply decided you don't want it though, we can only offer 75%, as sales noted (their word is as official as anyone's, btw). While in the former case we're potentially at fault and will gladly offer a full refund, in this case, well, we can't guar
Can you cancel and get a refund if it turns out you don't like it?
I fear you can't get a full refund if you have downloaded any beta version.
With Stardock, only people who have preordered can participate in the open beta.
BTW, the latest entry on Frogboy blog for GC2 2.0 http://frogboy.impulsedriven.net/article/329034/Galactic_Civilizations_II_v20_A_Guided_Tour gives some kudos for beta testers and insists on the importance to have open beta for Stardock.
Well, what is generally death magic? Giving life to dead and denying life to living ;) Looks really like a twisted life magic. BTW, do you know the background behind the Death goddess in Disciples and Disciples II ?
Now about the absence of death magic
I guess Death magic is just life magic as a negative channeler
WHAT ABOUT DEATH MAGIC?!
I guess it is life magic as a negative channeler
Why do I think that the background for Elemental is the GC universe? From the way of the Krynn ( https://forums.galciv2.com/169514 ) :
The Way represents the ultimate direction for people to live their lives. The Krynn believe in a supreme being (what humans would call "God") who created the universe and then sent 4 guardians to safeguard the universe. These guardians looked over the a massive crystal th
it's just that those screenshots don't strike me as equal to or better than GCII
I guess we need to find the screenshots from the first announcement of GC2, then those used when it shipped and compare them with the current screenshots from GC2:TotA to have a better grasp on how graphics can evolve in the life of a game.
I do hope the graphics and interface have improved somewhat from what gamespy has by the time it launches,
I guess the cloth map has the same functionnality than the tactical view in GC2: reducing eye and candy for more available informations. There is also some screenshots on edge online http://www.edge-online.com/features/elemental-war-magic-unveiled
I think you're confused a bit here. If you buy a digital download, it registers itself on your account automatically. As long as you have your account, you never have to re-register anything.
If you havd read correctly his post, you would have seen that he has also changed e-mail. And since he didn't have any longer access to his old e-mail, he need some physical proof to show that he is the first user of his copy instead of a second hand user as he wanted to tranf
Impulse Reactor has the benefit that it's free and is simply a DLL that users include with their game.
But the management that need to be convinced to use it might be persuaded that a free DLL isn't something secure. It will be hacked, meaning that the whole protection scheme is voided. When your are adding any security, you want it to be not easily found. If your are using a DLL that can be easily identified and changed to alter only the security funct
As for the legality of a proxy, even Stardock doesn't care. They recommend people look for one to bypass the region restrictions for games
Are you thinking about the "Don't forget the rest of the world" thread http://forums.impulsedriven.com/323878 . Reply #20 was also interesting
Perharps, but the result is the same: regional pricing to prevent someone from being undercut ;)
Have you looked at reply #27 in this thread http://forums.impulsedriven.com/326317/page/2/#1899207 (weekly impusle update - 3rd october) ? It is very instructive ...
It's on D2D too, now. Dunno if that's any different.
It states on the D2D page for the game : This product is only available for purchase in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. I guess I need to wait the official release date in France (24 october 2008) before hoping to see it available on the various direct download sites.
Got it downloading off Gamersgate before I went to work
Sadly, Gamersgate won't allow me to download it since I am not in a country where it is allowed to sell it.
Played the demo, meh. It's kinda boring. If it were hard, yeah, but there is so little difficulty involved. Your mana regenerates, you can kill armies ten times your size with the starting spells as the caster, and you get enough troops to kill those armies ten times your size when you flee one twenty times your size that you actually can't kill between the rage skills and fireball. I don't like games that have no losing situation.
Then try with another hero if it is to
I can see no way that localised language version's would add 40% to the total budget
There are various reasons for those price difference: - localization costs in euro - various languages that needs a localization, with a relative small user base in each language that will bough this expansion - price adapted to the euros market. For example, in France the retail box for an AAA game is generally 50 euros - price set independantly o
It looks like a glitch: When I click on Private message, it states that I have 6 messages stored. When choosing a folder, the combobox states that there are 3 in the inbox, 2 in the sent and 0 in the trash. If I count correctly, this makes 5 messages. Where is the last stored message?
For those who might have seen this on other threads, I am still trying to get my GC2 (dread lords) game activated
In which thread is it? And it is strange you can't activate it if you have the serial Id unless: - it is a used copy already registered - someone has registered the serial Id without buying the copy - it was in a manufacturing batch that used already issued serial id
I'm making this point because I am an offline gamer that cares about this game. Currently I'm using the net connection at work to write this. If I was a pirate I suspect that I could doenload a updated copy of the game a lot easier than it is to persuade Stardock to look after their legitiamate customers properly. (They did say they listernt to their customers in a previous thread after all!)
Well, if you look at reply #14 in this thread from a Stardock employee <p
Looks like european customers need to buy from Impulse before a deal is made with european distributors ....
Most federal circuits in the United States have ruled the opposite; that boxed software is a good that is sold and not a license.
But then, second hand user isn't entitled to patch/updates since they aren't in the boxed software ;)
