hmm, some of my file dates have changed. It would appear that when I used Impulse to update WB all this time, I wasn't getting a full set of file updates: Wblind.dll 2009/03/24 12:59:20 Wbsrv.dll 2009/03/24 16:03:02 Wbconfig.exe 2009/03/24 16:04:20 Wbload.exe 2009/03/24 16:04:14 Wbhelp.d

Heh...I must have cleaned WB out thoroughly because the Zapper didn't have WB listed. CCleaner found stuff. Re-installing most recent WB version... Wow...It would appear that updating WB using Impulse doesn't get all the newest file versions. That's amazing. Wblind.dll 2009/03/24 12:59:20 Wbsrv.dll 2009/03/24 16:03:02 Wbconfig.exe &nbs
upon receiving advice from The Wiz, am uninstalling WB, rebooting per instructions, cleaning out left-overs, rebooting, re-installing. Will report back...
eh, why not. WB isn't running at the moment. Would you happen to know where that little SD help app is that allows one to COMPLETELY uninstall an application?
By the way. Explorer keeps crashing. Now none of these issues happened with the evaluation version. It ran fairly well.
Have you narrowed this down to IconPackager? I'm having problems with Explorer and was thinking that IP could be the problem.
Well...I've been having problems with Windows Explorer taking a few minutes to actually display items or to finish loading or something. When I start WinExp, the window is blank, then the "not responding" window frame shows up, eventually it finishes. In an attempt to troubleshoot this mess, I found this entry in the Audit section of the Event Viewer...there are over 80 entries (I tried counting, but
Hope someone is still reading this :) I've been having problems with Windows Explorer taking a really long time to load up. In order to troubleshoot, I wanted to change EVERYTHING back to default MS. I still am using IP 4.1 and tried to apply Windows default icons. After much mucking about with rebooting/"repair icons", "rebuilding icon cache", etc, I have managed to get all icons changed correctly, EXCEPT for the contents of the folder "C:\" All sub-folders are co

Setting the wallpaper to a logon was a stroke of genius and it works well. Thanks so much for that feature.
Yeah, think I'll try that. Thanks again for your help. Hmmm 4.2 doesn't seem to be available anymore. Stardock must have pulled it.
So, should I update to the 4.2 version and then apply this patch? It just seems to unregister shellext.dll
It did say was not installed correctly, offered an update, but to a previous version (4.1) Ran update, rebooting....(brb) Version 4.1, rebooted. Tried all options, no change. 'repair icon images' and 'repair shell icons' don't really seem to be doing anything. Looks like no activity when selected. Right now, I'm just trying to get the Windows default icons all correct. If the folder is empty, the correct icon is displayed. If the folder has contents, th
Having the same problems. I can't even get the default windows icon set to display. If there is already a ticket I won't add another unless needed. IP version 4.20.178 Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 (just installed the IE V.8 update (probably a really big mistake)) 3GB Ram hmm, not sure what hardware you need to know about. My computer seems to REALLY like the Wraith-IP icon set. I cannot get any live folders to be anything other. I have tried all the 'rebuilding', 'repairing' options in Iconpackager, tried changing to the Windows default set, rebooting, logging off/on, everything. The drive icons change and most of the other icons change, but live folders are not changing. Anyone have any other ideas? UPDATE: I downgraded my IP version to 4.1, applied the Wraith
Great theme!! I can't get the folder icons to work. The empty folders are showing correctly, but the icons for the other folders, which have contents, are showing a black front. I have tried the usual things, rebooted, re-applied the theme and rebooted, 'rebuild icon cache', 'repair icon images', etc. Nothing is working. I've even used the customize icon function from the 'properties' context menu to change one individual icon. Any suggestions how to get the icons to display properly? Thanks

All I'm getting is "File Not Found" What information do you need from me?
what ever happened to the gadget website? There were a lot of free and 'master' type gadgets there.
+1 for rjm2310 suggestion. IE tab extension is great for those troubling web pages which won't load correctly in firefox. You can save the setting so that the offending web page always opens in the IE tab.
Yeah, didn't change anything... back to the investigation
I have tried saving it many times in many ways [e digicons]|-)[/e] I was always using the DX Builder app to do so. After i found it in that virtual folder, I just moved it to where it was supposed to be.
what about using Rainlendar? Is that way more than you need? http://www.rainlendar.net/cms/index.php?option=com_rny_gallery&Itemid=41 Well, can't seem to make that link hot...sorry. Just copy paste
Wow...ok I found it. Here is the address from the search results: C:\Users\*********\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\DesktopX\Themes If I "Open File Location" it opens up to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\DesktopX\Themes That is completely off the wall and really should be fixed by Stardock.
I have the same start up, or non-start up problems with DX. Have tried all suggestions listed. I wonder if the executable has to be "Run as Administrator"..... will try that out and report back.
yeah, that's what's weird...I did do a complete system search for it, wasn't there. But the DX load command finds it just fine. DX shows it to be in the path I listed, with a .desktop extension
