Created a desktop theme and saved it. Using Windows Explorer and browsing to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\DesktopX\Themes, I do not find my .desktop file. When I use "Load Desktop", my theme is listed; when I "Save Desktop As...", the save dialog box shows the path as listed above and I get a successful save, but no file. Where is it? Thanks and happy holidays David

I've been using these proggies for a long time now. Jorge, this is really great. It's come so far from those early years :). This is a wild update, very cool. You've done very well. Merry Christmas! oh, btw...what is the techno-dance track on the second vid?
Vista Home Premium SP1 and works fine, I think :) I get a picture and that's it. Is there supposed to be a progress bar or anything else besides the picture?
All Time Best!!!
"... saving current desktop displays a message saying you cannot save a my colours theme even though the theme i am using is not my colours." Same problem Vista Home Premium SP1. Experience factor 3.4 (whatever that's called)
I don't work for these guys, just a fan... AltDesk: http://www.astonshell.com/altdesk/ Lightweight and skinnable
Hope someone is still watching this :) Anytime I launch MyColors, the Windowblinds setting to "Show icon in the system tray for easy access...." gets unchecked. Is there anyway to stop this behavior? I like to have the WB icon in the systray for easy, well you get the idea. Thanks, david [e digicons]:wulf:[/e]
good grief, is everyone okay up there? News report looked bad for you.
Regarding DesktopX, I found the install path in Impulse and set it as desired. DesktopX installation does not follow the set install path. In fact it makes quite a mess of itself :) Also, it would seem that all WinCustomize theme files, windowblinds, icon sets, etc, should all be under the parent C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock, and those mentioned above are there. Right Click themes are not, nor are dreamscapes or DX themes. I think Impulse is great and I look forward to
2of3, have you uploaded that blind anywhere? That is a great looking WB!!
wow, 28 pages... has anyone done I am Bjorn of Borg?
I have found that, even though I log in with administrator privileges, I sometimes have to right-click on the install executable and choose "Run As Administrator" to really have it run elevated. You might want to give that a shot just to see.
capacitors, when starting to fail, leak...when they leak they can emit a sound which could sound wail-ish :) We had that problem with a TV a couple of years ago. Have no idea which capacitor could be causing that, but, if it is definitely coming from your speakers, maybe it's the speaker with the power regulator in it. Normally I would say it's from your main computer power supply. just a thought.
When I first applied this theme, my live folder icons were a mixture of aquamarine and gloss burgundy. The fronts were aquamarine and the back and middle parts were burgundy. I could not get that configuration to change. Using IP, I changed to the default Vista icons, but the fronts were still aquamarine. I clicked repair icons, rebuild cache...all that stuff, with reboots thrown in for good measure. This was only for sizes larger than "details" in explorer. Finally I re-applied the burgund
My mom had breast cancer. Operation, radiation, no chemo and she's done. The disease sucks, but it may turn out it's not as bad as it seems. Give it a shot. I don't hate you and I don't want you to die.
RC used to be able to generate skins based on current windowblind. I know SD is working on fixing it, but it would be nice to see that functionality back :)
Well, I was thinking of just using Gparted (the Linux partition manager)... This drive is a regular P ATA drive which has been enhoused (LOL at the word enhoused, how about encased) and is now a USB drive. I had planned on putting inside my new machine, but those drives are all S ATA drives :(
Ok, I can't get my image to show, (I can see it in "Edit" mode) so... I have some unallocated space on a disk which has 2 partitions, G: and H: I want to add the extra space to H: I have tried using the "Extend" function, but apparently Vista Home Premium does not support dynamic disks and will not allow me to Extend H: Does anyone know how I can add the extra space onto H:? Thanks folks!!! I, too, am behind a router, the firewall is one of those "just in case" things. I found it amusing that I would get warnings about Notepad and other very innocuous apps.
Dave, you're getting paranoid .... )
Paranoid??? what do you mean by that...what, do you know something? Is there something going on???? ;)
Hi all, I have tried to find this on the internet, but I've no idea how to phrase the question/statement correctly I guess. I just had to do a clean install of Vista SP1 and all my SD apps, so I know my machine is clean. It seems that practically everything is trying to get to the internet for some reason. My firewall will tell me that this or that program wants to access the 'trusted zone' and then it asks for permission to access the int

I've want to get back to DX, but since I got this Vista machine, it won't install, so I'm just biding my time until one of these versions installs :)
