duh....Yes, UAC. I have turned it off completely. Even the "Administrator Account" gives me problems.

If you right click on an .exe file > properties > compatibility there is a box which says run as administrator. Once you set this, you are good to go for that program. No external applications needed. Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but this section doesn't seem to get much action.

My install says I need to upgrade to WindowBlinds 6.2 or it won't load the blind. There isn't a 6.2 available :P

tried changing both of those and it didn't help. The preview doesn't ever show the color I'm trying to change.

I don't have the Quest theme (that I know of :) The bitmaps are in this folder: C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\RightClick\Skins\WindowBlindsSkins\CurrentSkin\Popup There is a file in there called Popup

Howdy, I'm running Vista 32 Home Premium, lots of RAM, lots of hard drive, lots of speed. I have the most recent WindowBlinds, RightClick, and ObjectDock. I do not have ObjectBar installed. Trying to use the 'Use Windowblinds Skin' option in RightClick produces an olive green skin that I've never seen before and which is not in the list of available RightClick Skins. This green skin is always used no matter which WindowBlind I have loaded. So, what am I missi

Have to bump this.... I wanted to start on a new blind and got the 'this version of skin studio has expired' thing. Told me to get the newest at www.skinstudio.net, but that version has expired as well. Is there a working vista version of skin studio out there somewhere? Thanks, David
**** UPDATE **** I originally installed the program from the download link presented by the Stardock store. That is the installation which didn't work. Thanks CarGuy, for all your advice. At Newegg, the EVGA was a 12 month warranty, but this whole thing may be moot. The new box arrives tomorrow (12/11) and we shall see. I have to prepare this box for my kids so, hopefully, after all the proggie installations, I will write back here and let you know how the 8300 works out.
