Living in TOkyo, we get a lot of news related to North Korea. Sounds like a pretty harsh place to live. I think that a lot of that news may be biased, but still, scary stuff.

LOL TY! I think DH got off lucky. Now that I have matching curtains, I feel a lot less pressure to change things in the apartment, such as buying furniture!
the Minister for Tasty Snacks will have the Department of Tasty Snacks working for him !!! this is the best sentence have heard in about a week. I want to start a quote book just so that I can write that one down! I don't know
My decorating angst has been somewhat appeased by finally getting curtains that aren't completely mismatched. They are far from interesting. THey are a cream, rough weave. It makes my room look more like a box when they are closed, but, how nice not to have curtains that clash so badly that they make my head hurt!!! It took me a while to get used t
well, as long as your satisfied with your social experiment
Well, if that shocks you well... then that shocks you. Well... here is something to consider. Communication is only about 25% of the words that we actually use. The rest comes about with gesture, facial expression and intonation. Me answering these personal questions on the street to a stranger would have a lot to do with that 75% that can not be transmitted on the internet. Considering that I am not going to get that 75%
I can only say what they used to say at the London School of Economics: Pfft to the lot of them! and I guess that "pffft to you back" would be the standard response at London School of Economics? Hmm... whole
ha ... mano...! you took the words right away from my finger tips!
Sushi for christmas! Sounds good to me! Speaking of sushi...... haven't had lunch yet... mmmm....
Best wishes to you as well, Trudy! Dr. Guy, where u at? My mom and dad didn't have a white christmas either. Calgary is getting super warm weather. So what did you folks do?
Well, it's the eve of the 25th. It was a pretty nice, but not traditional Christmas holidays. No presents to unwrap but that's okay. We spent the morning house cleaning and it ended up being our Oo-souji (big house cleaning at the end of the year) and then we had a pot-luck open house from 1-10 pm. We had invited anyone we knew that was staying in
I'm up but i'm in a way different time zone and I'm about to hit the sack. 11:44 pm here
The list is good advice. Actually, I already started and I measured the windows. No way my family will send me anything. Mainly they are too busy. I looked for curtains when I was home last and couldn't find anything that would fit. I will have to get ordermade here, too, but I know a place that deosn't sell fabric for hundreds of dollars a yard. Curtains are really the biggest expense. Especially because of the odd size windows.<
"Look like the innocent sock, but be the serpent beneath it." That's what it should say on it's little sockie tombstone. But I refuse to believe the sock is dead. Evil socks don't die!
How do I describe my place? One visitor asked me, "How long have you lived here?" When I replied, "Three years" she looked puzzled. "I thought you'd just moved in." My apartment consists of two rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. The bedroom has become a huge closet/den for me because it has a carpet and is bad for allergies s
I enjoy shopping and giving gifts to people. It's fun, especially when the gift is a hit. I have an excellent track record giving stuffed animals to kids. Usually, it becomes their can't-part-with-it animal. I'm really enjoying the secret santa exchange at work. THough me secret santa reciever threw me for a loop when he wrote, "nothing fattening please" on his i
Well, it looks like the evil pink and cream argyle sock has cleared off on its own. Most likely, it escaped out the hole in the washing machine, but I can't prove it. I suspect it is lying in wait somewhere, looking innocent (a la video tape a la "Ring") while waiting for someone to pick it up. I say, "Good luck, evil sock. People generally
Night Court! I remember laughing my head off at some of those episodes! I also liked Three's Company at the time and especially the one where Jack goes loopy after taking medication for airsickness and then drinking alcohol and ends up doing the chicita banana lady dance with a potted plant on his head after he fell into it. Does anyone else remember this episode?
Congrats on the new job. Best of luck with your interview!!! btw... what is "woot?" p.s. thanks for the tip about the spark plugs. I don't have a car, but I might again someday! All car tips are good. I just know to put gas in it, clean the windows, add oil and take it to the mechanic.
btw .. BOO to your family for refusing to tape shows for you. thank you! I'm the only foreigner I know here who doesn't get shows from home mailed. I know, "wah" goes the whiner. I can't really blame my mom because she is conc
Alias! OMG!!!!! How could I forget that one! Love that show! Veronica Mars I have read lots of good things about it. I will take a look for
We all have the power to rise above this. Yes. I agree. I believe the second sentence I wrote says that. What makes sisterhood special is having the ability to see past it,
I like Stargate SG1 and I know there are several seasons available out there now, but I am a sci-fi fan. I love sci-fi, too. Have seen a lot of different Stargate episodes, but never in order. Maybe it is time to revisit. Thanks for the suggestion!
Hey here is a link with pictures of the skirts lol that was so weird! But are you sure that these weren't photoshopped? The last picture looks really suspicious to me. My friend sent me a link last year that had some obscene train signs from Japan. THey had to be photoshopped. They looked
If you really think about it, cattiness, jealousy, bitchiness is all part of the sisterhood. What makes sisterhood special is having the ability to see past it, to forgive it and move forward. My.02 anyway.
