Yes, we have seen a solid increase in business. It's been pretty much non stop.

How is the running going and the diet? Good luck all around Mason.
Thanks. Am still counting calories and doing well there, the running has slacked off lately due to the insane work schedule but I'm still getting in a little here and there as I can find the time. I wei

Today I visited a Brookstone store to pick up a wifi enabled "smart scale" and while I was there I ran across a very cool device called a Boogie Board. It is a paperless note pad and is exactly what I have been looking for to replace the multitude of dead tree note pads I go through every year. I often need to jot down load information, phone numbers, pick up numbers, directions, etc. These are notes I don't need long term and it's such a waste to use a paper note pad, but at
After running harder than I like to get a stretch trailer back here from Houston I have a bit of time off. The boss knew what I had to do to get it done and scheduled my next load to let me get some much needed rest. I dropped the trailer at the yard around 11:00 PM Wednesday night after leaving Houston around 4:40 Tuesday afternoon. I was beat. My next load is a six stop load, the first of which is only about 5 hours from here, for Monday, so I have pretty much been off Thurs
The past several weeks have just been crazy at work. I have had very little in the way of down time as a result. Also, my weight loss/fitness progress has really slowed as well (down 21 lbs at this point). I am still counting calories and doing well there, but just haven't had the time to get out and do much walking or jogging. I am currently sitting just outside of Houston and will be delivering a fire truck to the port there in the morning. I then have to scramble to get back to

No affiliation. I found a cool application that lets you use your laptop as a wifi hotspot to share it's internet connection (mobile broadband card, etc) with your other devices. I just tried it out and it works perfectly. http://mhotspot.com/index.html
LOL thanks, Judy. Is a bit over 20 lbs lost now.
So good to take a little time for ourselves. Good for you. Happy travels.
Thanks. I delivered in Baltimore and picked up a wide load heading back but have been laid over here in Breezewood, AP since Noon Friday because of the holiday weekend. We aren't allowed to move over size loads on holidays or holiday weekends. Been couped up in this hotel since then and can't leave until 9:00 am Tuesday morni
Congrats on the time off - and the weight loss! It is getting "sticky" down here, so best to stay where it is not humid yet.
Thanks. Tomorrow morning I'll be heading for Baltimore. I expect a bit of the warm and humid there.
That's the best part, I still eat pretty much whatever I want, although I am avoiding fried foods for the most part. I just monitor my portions and calorie intake to make sure whatever I eat or drink doesn't put me over my daily calorie goal. The exercise helps too as the more calories you burn in a day the
Am behind in checking up on you this week. Glad to hear there is progress to show after all the sweat!
Thanks. I guess it is paying off.
I am taking the weekend off in Wisconsin. There is a very nice nature trail here and yesterday I went for a walk/run (50/50) on it. It's a great place for a run and/or walk. I did my weekly weigh in this morning. I have now dropped a total of 18 pounds since I started trying to get healthier. Not too bad for a fat old man. I have to do some laundry later today, but plan to go for another run on the trail before I do.

I guess if you have to wear shoes, it helps to have a good pair.
Yeah, I know you prefer the barefoot thing. I actually mentioned you to someone the other day because of that. We were talking about running shoes. I can see you running a marathon barefoot, winning, and making you
Hello Mason. I am getting the feeling that you are starting to enjoy this in spite of yourself. You will be running marathons before you know it. Keep up the good work. judy
Hiya. You're right, I am enjoying it. This morning I went for a run (can you believe THAT?) on a nature trail. I did walk part of it, but ran most. It was a blast. Marathon? Well, I have actually
I have been doing my walking for exercise wearing an old pair of lightweight hiking shoes. My feet have been killing me because those shoes are simply not made for what I have been doing. This morning I went over to Dick's Sporting Goods. I lucked out in that the young lady working the shoe department is a runner and actually knows what she's talking about. Once I explained to her that all of this is new to me, I know nothing at all about picking out the right athletic shoes,
Sure is.
Warm weather is back with us once again so Saturday I went to buy a couple of pairs of shorts to wear while out doing my exercise walking. At first I started to just grab some in the size I have been wearing for years (40), but instead decided to actually try some on. I'm glad I did. Turns out I have dropped a full pants size and the size 38 shorts fit me very well. A couple of months ago I wouldn't have been able to button them. I guess the effort is starting to pay off a bit
Sounds like it is all good. Congrats on the weight drop. When and where are you doing your exercise Mason? Looking forward to progress reports and travel stories too.
Thanks, Judy. I mostly walk laps around the truck stop parking lots in the evenings. I did three laps around this one today totaling 2.86 miles before running into a driver I know and stopped to chew the fat. Not a lot in t

After recently having to go on medication for high blood pressure I have been trying to eat healthier, get more exercise, and generally improve my health. The doctor tells me I also have high cholesterol and has given me three months to try and bring that down to avoid going on pills for that too. Eating healthy on the road isn't easy, and it's even harder for someone who has spent the last 50 years not giving it a thought. A friend told me about a free app called My Fitness P
I like the Hoosier state and usually find the time to stop for the night and enjoy a few cold ones when I pass through there. Good folks and one of the few civilized states left as one can still smoke in the bars.
