Quoting Daiwa, reply 3Wish we knew what causes high blood pressure, other than breathing air for too long. Would holding your breath help? I am not as religious as you about the BP - I just have it taken every 8 weeks when I give blood. So I get a longer average and it does stay down. Remember the old Lawrence Welk Commercials for Geritol? Yea, we laughed at them until they became us!

Quoting MasonM, reply 2LOL thanks Judy. I am taking the pill every morning. So no pregnancies either? I have been on HBP medication for a few years now. Sucks if I want to buy insurance, but otherwise my BP is what it was 30 years ago. fortunately mine is a very mild pill (a diuretic).
LOL Guy. he side effects of thhe pil have pretty much worn off now so other than just
LOL thanks Judy. I am taking the pill every morning.
Yesterday the doc cleared me on my blood pressure and I received my medical card for a year. It's normally two years but once you have been diagnsed with certain conditions, high blood pressure being one of them, they cut it back to a year. That's ok, at least I get to continue working.
Thanks, Judy. My appointment is at 2:30 this afternoon. I'll know then whether I still have a job or will be joining the ranks of the unemplyed and homeless. When I checked my blood pressure this morning it was very good on my monitor so hopefully it will be good at the doctor's office this afternoon.
Thanks, Daiwa. Yeah, the DOT can be a real pain in the ass at times.
Thanks BFD. Sorry it didn't turn oout well for you. I've been taking my blood pressure at least twice a day and it is slowly trending down, so perhaps the pills will do the trick for now. On the down side the pills are giving me a mild headache and I am feeling tired as hell. The doc did say I would probably experience some side effects at first but they should pass in a few days. I sure as hell hope so as this tiredness is making it hard for me to do my job.
On January 9th I had my bi-annual D.O.T. physical and failed due to high blood pressure readings. As a result I wish ony issued a 90 day medical card, which expires on April 9th. Yesterday I finally got around to seeing a doctor for a follow up. My blood pressure was still high. As I haven't had a real physical in years and am now 50 years old the doc gave me a full physical including blood work. Barring the results of the lab work next week he proclaimed me in reasonably good hea
I also grew up during those times and, like you, love the music. But the hippies themselves? Not so much. For the most part I thought they were complete morons and in that respect I would say that yes, the "occupy" idiots are indeed the modern hippies. They are clueless idiots following a few catchy slogans that have no idea why they re doing what they are doing and are doing little more than using up air that would be better used by people who are actually capable of rational thought. <p
Quite right Guy.
Thanks, Dr Guy, yeah I did manage to get back on the road after a one night layover.
At least one case of an e-cig battery exploding & nearly killing a guy. Just last month. Lost some teeth and part of his tongue, caused a fire. Possible he had 'modded' the battery in some way, though.
wow, hadn't heard about that.
Why go through all this trouble. Give up smoking. Nothing worse than a preachy ex smoker.
I have no idea about the new truck, the boss hasn't mentioned it in a while. To be honest I don't really want a new one because of some of the problems I have heard about them. I'm happy with the one I have. They all break down now and again, that's just part of trucking. No, I don't knit these days but I do think about it once in a while. I kind of got bored with it. I just ran out of new ideas I guess. Yeah, the weather is pretty nice down here, no complaints from me on that s
Yesterday I picked up some parts of a crane in Louisiana and am hauling them to Georgia. I made it as far as Pensacola, FL where I stooped to get a cold drink. When I stepped out of the truck I heard an air leak that turned out to be the air bag on the passenger side of my steer axle. Well, that pretty much stopped me cold as I couldn't ignore it. I put the truck in a shop. The nearest place that had that air bag was in Atlanta. They are having it shipped over night so I should be
Ah. Suit yourself. Probably for the best.
Today I picked up the keyboard dock for my Asus Transformer tablet. I really like this. A tablet that can also be used as a netbook. Fantastic!
Interesting. I know a lot of those old remedies have some value, but this one is news to me. So I guess all those times I have injured myself and bled like hell was actually a good thing? LOL
You're right about the notepad. I use voice recording myself. When I get an idea I just record it. Listening to it later sometimes it makes sense, sometimes not, but it helps. :D
