Which version of the game are you running? 1.0 or 1.01? Also are you connected to the internet when you try to send a message while the game is loading?

On #2: It does matter if you have fundraised in the state before. The money man effects the Potential in the state. So for instance if you don't have much awareness in the state you are not going to see much of an increase. Same as if you have already "tapped" the state. So if you have been fundraising there before, then your potential is still pretty low. So even with the money man you are not going to see much of an increase. Just
If you have not installed ServicePack 1 please do (you can check by right clicking on "My Computer" and select properties) Also you may need to update directX to 9.0c from http://www.microsoft.com/directx
It seems to have arrived here in stores (Michigan). Also what are you machine specs? I have listed the requirements from the readme.txt file below: -Minimum Configuration: Win 98/ME/2000/XP Only DirectX 9.0b 600 MHz Pentium III, AMD Athlon, or equivalent 128 MB RAM (2000/XP users: 256 MB required) 32MB DirectX 9.0 compatible graphics card with hardware accelerated 3D support DirectX 9.0 compatible sound devic
The game keeps you from quitting until it has finished loading. What most likely happened was that you quit while it was loading and it corrupted some of the files it was bringing in. If you wait a minute or so (depending on machine speed) the button will not be grayed out and you can quit cleanly. It shouldn't take as long the second time as it caches the files from the last time.
Do you have Service Pack 1 installed? If not, please install it, and then install DirectX 9.0c from http://www.microsoft.com/directx That should get you fixed up.
Does this continue even after you take a turn. Please also make sure that you actually have your candidate selected. You can press "C" to select your candidate and then right click the state you want to go to.
For the first 'Other Thing', it depends on the type of ad. If for instance you have a newspaper ad and then in the next state over you flip sides on the same issue with another news paper ad, then they will not effect each other as they only reach the boarders of that state. However if you place a TV ad, that is a national ad, changing sides will essentially undo what you just did. Also the suggestions might have a better home in the ideas s
You should allow for a week to a week and a half to get your copy in the U.S. Outside of the US can take up to two weeks.
It may be an issue with the language that is installed on the box as well. However the only real solution is to install SP1.
You can also make a post in the sticky "Ideas" thread that Brad started. They will for sure get seen there.
If you set the "smaller" monitor to be your primary just before you run the game it should pop up there (especially in windowed mode). Also if you have any MultiMonitor managers such as NVIEW or something, you can have it pop up new windows on which ever monitor you like. So you can probably set it to pop up new windows on the secondary monitor and then run polMachine with the "w" switch and get it to show up there. Just curious, when XP is
Currently this feature is not implemented, however it is on the wish list.
If you could, can you please send a screen shot of what you are seeing (Press printScreen and then paste the image into msPaint and send that to us)? Also to please go to start->Run->DXDiag and then press the save button at the bottom right hand corner of the window. And send us that along with the debug.err file from the political machine folder. You can send all of the information to [email protected] alog with a note on what the issue is.</fon
Dearmad is correct. There is a misprint in the manual that states there is an interview button. However there is no such thing. The only way to go on an interview is to fly into the state with your color camera.
Unfortunately no, you can only play multiplayer across a network. You can play within the same household if you have multiple machines however arcoss a LAN.
Bushfan1087: You are correct, the manual does say that there is an interview button. This is a misprint in the manual. The only way to go on an interview is to fly into a state with the appropriate color camera. Sorry for the mix up.
Can you please send the debug.err file to [email protected] with a note on what is happening? Also if you could please go to Start->Run and then type dxdiag. When the new window comes up please save the information (button at the bottom right hand corner of the screen) and send that file as well. We will see what we can come up with.
FireLord: It sounds like a font is not being loaded/released properly. A single reboot should get you sorted out.
Thanks, we will see about getting that fixed.
We are working on getting the manuals scanned in and uploaded. They will be up shortly.
We were in the process of releasing PM. You may want to try now and see if you get the same issue. Also do you have View->Show Pre-release versions on or off? If it is still not working for you can you tell me what version SDC is reporting itself as?
It sounds like when you quit SDC its not totally unloading. Due to its multi-threaded nature, if a piece of SDC is still loaded it will cause the other parts not to load. Please delete the contents of your \program files\stardock\sdcentral folder and install SDC again. (it should pick up on everything that you have already installed. Then updated it to build 61. This is the one that was released today. It should get you all fixed up.
Catoblasta: We are here and listening. I have answered your other post in the other thread as well. As for the tutorial please download the multiplayer senarios section of D2. This will give you access to the tutorial.
Delaron: The manual is in the works for now. It will be available when the game is released. In the meantime you can read the "Quick Tips" that show up at the start of each game. If you flip through those you will get a good idea on how to play. Just to answer your flight question, select your candidate (or whatever you want to move) and then rightClick on the state you want to go to.
