OK Now you went and did it. I'm confused. Look up JAFOs profile. It says Access level: Avatar. Now obviously he's Da Man but I just wondered. I mean he did say " Yes... I am God" of course with some qualifications. LOL Silly Me <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" border=0 alt="Posted via WinCusto

Thank You Essencay Does this site describe that somewhere? I've looked and looked and looked. And where would I find info on the access levels? I still want to know what an Avatar access level is. Sounds pretty mystical to me

I found this: (But still don't understand the access levels) and where do the names developer, scribe etc come from? Exiles a user who was banned Visitor- a non-registered user Citizen- a registered user. 99% of us! Apprentice-A (nominated ) citizen user who has submitted skins. The honorific "Sir" or "Lady" is appended to the front of their name. There is also a Master Apprentice rank for those right on the verge of becoming Journeymen

Hello All In theme manager, under windows media player I have a list of all the Media player skins. In the right window, where the preview images should be, I have only a generic 'preview image' Any solutions? What am I missing? Thanks in advance

I was hoping someone could explain WC's access level definitions. I did a search in all the forums but could find nothing specifically.User levels are thoroughly explained however. For instance in JAFO's profile he is listed as AVATAR in access level. JAFO does this mean you are a manifestation of a deity?

Very nicely done post. You demonstrate humility (even about your lack of spelling expertise )but your message is well thought out and sincere. I am not a skinner but just a regular person who loves the creativity and technical skill of those who submit their work on this site, which I have been visiting regularly for almost 2 years. The truth I think is that this community represents a microcosm of society and as such the individual members display

Hey NightTrain I was thinking the same thing. I've really had to hunt around for the appropriate help files. Even then I think there should be the 'dummy for all dummies' section for people like me.I couldn't even figure out how to install some of these progs when I first started. What would be great would be a tabbed index, each labeled with the differents OD components so if you needed help on say iconpackager or desktopx, you could just go to it, click on the first line which would be a link

Hello All Well this thread looks like a 'share from the heart' kind of thing. As a woman and a nurse and a ( once again ) single mom I can truly say ' suffering is relative'. Without going into too many gory details I believe I have had it worse than some and definately better than some. As an only kid and an air force brat and now as a 49 year old human I have lost both parents ( my dad when I was 10, my mom when I was 30 ) I have moved over 65 X in my life, been homeless living out of my

Hello all I've dl many of Pinchecls skins for sysmetrix and have made sure they were extracted to their own folders under 'themes'. When I right click Sysmetrix 'config' they are not showing up in the available skins. The 'ini' files are intact however. Any insight? They will not load when I attempt to import them either. Thanx in advance

Hello Joe You seem to have gotten some good advice here. I am also an Reg. Nurse. My specialty is cardiopulmonary and I have been in the biz for 16 years. First a single blood pressure by itself is not nearly as important as blood pressures over time. However the 205/180 falls within the parameters of a 'hypertensive crisis'. There are many causes however studies indicate that many who develop BP problems are genetically predisposed. This doesn't even have to mean that your family members hav

How about ByteLites or LiteBytes Kind of a play on words "lite" as in the name of another GUI we know and as in Light ' quantum, light speed, photons' etc or light perhaps as 'young, radiant, quick ' and bytes ,well you know. Or 'ChipCrips' kinda 'gangish' Or Blinders- windows, blinder or just glaringly Bright! Hey what do you expect from a mom of 4 sons in their early 20's who call me t

Hi river55IL I agree. What I wound up doing is creating a file on my desktop and dl and saving every pdf tutorial I could find and putting these together. Stardock Central has a long list of the various components and their documentation but under desktop x it says 'Directory Listing Denied This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.' I did find a desktop x tutorial elsewhere and dl that in pdf.Good Luck. BTW I am so 'green' you could use me as currency lol <BR

Thank You Apocalypse for your answer. One more question. Do the desktop X objects i.e. the weather objects need the rainmeter or sysmetrix programs to work correctly? I am a little confused as some of these programs seem to overlap in their functions. And last question, with your kind indulgence. Is there a pdf version of the desktop x tutorial? I am reading the one online but would like to print one out to study. Thank you in advance <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/inde

Hello All Can someone explain to me the difference and similarities in these programs. I keep seeing Sysmetrix 'with raineys'. Also some Sysmetrix skins have weather data encorporated into them. Does the Rainmeter have to be installed on your system for the weather data in your Sysmetrix to show up or is sysmetrix simply a program that duplicates some of the functionality of the 'Rainy' programs? Probably a DQ [ dumb question] but my eyes are getting blurry from reading and looking for posts

Hello All I've thoroughly enjoyed reading the posts on this site for the last week or so and have been learning lots about some of the technical aspects of all this ( just about enough to change my icons! ) However I was wondering if you pros and skinning savants would mind sharing what initially inspired you to do this craft? How did you get started? Who mentored you? Who inspired you and chall
