Crissy14 I haven’t has a chance have a proper full on mess today (had real work to do!) but I have a quick look. In windows 98SE there isnt an "Additional Drivers" option like XP under the printer sharing options. Also, the XP machine is SP2. Crissy14 When I say I 'installed' the XP driver, what I mean is that I downloaded the " hp deskjet 1220c series printer driver (full printing system, WHQL certified) " From the HP website (after folowing links from the XP reference). Right....I have upgraded the drivers on the 98SE machine using the latest installation/ drivers set from the HP website. I installed the XP version, which seems to be working OK, and the 98SE machine still prints just as well as it did before. I then reinstalled the printer on the XP machine through 'add printer'. Everything seemed fine, no error messages or anthing. Nice and smooth. But it still wont print! There arent even any error

Thanks for that Crissy14, but the XP machine can see the printer and all the other computers on the network (and can share files on them). My problem is that even when the printer seems to be installed, it wont print. This is what has led me to thinking that the problem is due to drivers. I will certainly double check things in the morning and re-install following your instructions, and let you all know what happens!

Turning off the script blocking in Norton Antivirus seems to have done the trick for me (I am using Norton Internet Security). I am not sure about DX3 widgets causing the virus scanner to stop working, but I have issues when running some widgets and the virus scanner preventing them running - again, I think this is due to the script blocking function. Isnt it funny that you read about fixes on forums, and think "Ill remember that, it just might be useful!" then not too long after, the problems happens to you and you have to put it into practice!! Well, I have used the Windows script to solve the blank whitepages in system restore and it also solves problems elsewhere as well, but the problem I am having is that the thing does not stay installed. I have a widget problem which I am sure is easy to solve...... Following a system crash and a subsequent system restore (when I could only restart in safe mode) several of my widgets were all messed up.
