Best to test your monitor with another machine at another location for an independent check. IMO, the specs you quoted are insufficient data for a monitor recommendation. Much would depend on intended use, lighting conditions, space availability, et al.

New motherboard`s definitely an option but that's a whole other can of worms. On that track, I would then think about new motherboard versus whole new machine. RAM sticks versus motherboard versus new machine really depends alot on TacoMan's comfort/knowledge level with each alternative. Options and options ! TacoMan: Once again adding RAM will have NO EFFECT on the speed of your CPU. It should increase the speed of your SYSTEM. There is a difference. Aside from my comment about trimming the fat to give your system some breathing room I DEFINITELY agree with Essencay`s recommendation to add RAM. Since your system is probably 3 or 4 years old, I''ll bet enough RAM to fill your system up is fairly cheap ! (perhaps on the order of $100 or so ???).
